Default First Drive HOLY HAT

Well guys I have read the posts and testimonials about driving a Shark and they are all true.

I finally put plates on my ride after 7 months of challenges and countless hours of labor and I have to say it was all worth it.

I am a mechanic and have driven a fair share of cars but I can say that I have never driven a car that makes you hope that the road ahead is full of TWISTS and TURNS. It's pretty cool how this automobile just seems to laugh at a turn as it sticks to the ground and pulls through effortlessly.

I got the itch to put this car together and enjoyed the challenge. I have been scratching the itch for months. Now that I can drive it, that's all I want to do.

I guess I can say "I've Been Hooked By A Shark"

Take it on a Looooong drive, say about 600 miles. Then have dinner. Then go get in again and drive back. Then you'll know the appeal of a 928. Next day you'll be up early and back in it again looking for some open road.

But don't spread to word too far, or someone will decide we should be taxed for such pleasures.

Do they do any type of Sharktoberfest on the East Coast? Is there a NY 928 club?

Yes they do.

Sharks In The Mountains in June
and the 928 Owners Club puts on the Frenzy which was also held a week ago.
There are plenty of sharks in your area, just keep watching this list.

When you've got everything dialed in, these cars are the best ride for the money.

Default congrats

Congrats...

It took me a while to take my first drive.... 3 months... and about 2 years until I would say she was really roadworthy...

though she makes some lifter noise... I would not hesitate to take it anywhere anytime...

Restoration is costly and is a labor of love... you have to have it be a hobby.

Great when hard works start to pay off.... have fun and keep it on the road!!!!

I will never forget the night I saw my first shark...it was very late, and the streets of Erlangen, Germany were deserted...it was a Glacier Blue metallic, and it was, I think, the most beautiful production car I'd ever seen. I had heard of them, but had never seen a picture, and so was unprepared for the visual impact; the lines, the curves, the sparkle, and the full moon shining on it made it look unearthly in its beauty. I must have walked around the car seven times in a circle about twenty feet in diameter. I was so enraptured, that I almost jumped out of my skin when a Polizei officer spoke from behind me: "It is beautiful, ja?" He had an amused smile on his face, and then said, "This is why we are still ze best car builders in ze world." He said he thought I was getting ready to do mischief, and was watching me; after the third circle around the car, he knew what he was seeing: lovesickness, lol...
Enjoy your ride...one day I'll have one of those too.
