"THis is a clear title car. The car was wrecked on the rear quarter panel only. I know for a fact that everything else is straight. When I bought the car it had a 928 specialist carbon fiber wing. The wing has extensions on it that put it way up in the air. I took it off for the pics"

So the guy buys it for $5100 and turns around and sells it for $14500 a couple months later......damm shame.....I hope it doesn't sell!! The seller should do the right thing and offer it back to Chris for $5100+ any auction fees! But instead he thinks he can make $9K on the deal!

I'm sorry Chris took a beating on it, but are you saying it did sell for $14.5 after Chris? Maybe it was the hood!!
The car is fast in more ways than one (changing owners). I doubt it will reach that now, if only b/c the wheels don't match. Related topic, did anybody catch what the Miata look-alike convertible went for last week? IIRC they said there were 4 of them in existence and if they are breeding, that is scary.

He hasn't had this car for more than a few weeks. Pulling the rear wing was a mistake. Leaving it with one odd wheel was a mistake. Starting the bidding at $10K is a mistake. He may not get any bids.

One trusted source tells me he bought it for $4800 at auction. He does claim that he can't afford to fix it the way it needs. Not sure what that means but he stands to make a killing.

The guy bought the car at auction he paid more than anyone else would pay that day what he does now is his business. He did not take the car away from anyone but simply was buying a car. The lender "repossessed" the car for delinquent payments and sold the car to try to get back their money. In the auction verbage he notes that there are over $15,000 of receipts from 928 Specialists so if you wish to be upset with this guy trying to make money should you also be upset with Dave ? I think NOT !

We live in a capitalist system. He should be encouraged. Ditto what Jim said. Do we throw stones at everyone who buys a home at a mortgage foreclosure? I think niot.

If I had the time, I would take a page out of low miler's book and hit this guy hard. You know how much he paid, and he doesn't know the history of the car. For all he knows, this this car could be a time bomb - it probably isn't. I think you could get it for less than $8k right now without a PPI! Sure, it's $3k more than what he paid, but he'll be happy, and you'll be ahppy becasue you got a GT for $8k. You could probably "fix" it up to make it more presentable and sell it for $12-$15k, Or sell it back to Chris for what you paid.

that is a pretty rough car. But i had seen pics of this car before and thought it looked nice honestly. Sorry to see that the guy is so quick to offload it honestly. But as Jim said perfectly, the guy didnt break any rules buying it, got a great deal, and found out what they are really worth, i honestly wouldnt be supprised if the previous ownr said something like "oh you got a great deal its really worth 15K " and the owner too that to heart and said, hell i would rather have an extra 10K. I think he also helped the current owner out by switching out the captian america hood with the original. I think the original aluminum one is worth more to resale then the glass one that looks like it belongs on a chevelle.
I would have done the same honestly, offered the car for sale, although i would have gotten rid of the red panels littered throughout the interior and at least washed the car before taking pictures.

The guy who bought it at auction learned from 928 Specialists that Chris was the prior owner and got in touch with Chris to get the original hood and learn more about the car. Chris being Chris probably gave the guy all the paperwork. He did say the guy seemed nice and hoped he would take care of the car.
