Yes but the "dick" didn't do dick to the car. So what you see is how Chris modfield it. So in retrospect it is a straigh insult to him.

yes it is, your right, i dont like the captian america hood, i dont like the wing that looks like it belongs on a honda, dont know why you would cut up an exhaust that very expensive to replace and the neoprene seat covers that are best served for an amphibious jeep , i can go on, yes its not my taste. That dosent make me right thats my opinion. I dismissed these thoughts before as they are someone elses and thats what they wanted to do to their car. Who the hell am i to say whats right and wrong, and who am i to saw whats in good taste. I guess i was attempting to tell people to stay away from buying the car from this guy.

Bigun dont take any offense, i thought you would have written this car off. Obviously there is an attachment to the car and i appologize if i insulted you, it wasnt meant as an insult, you obviously had quite a fondness for this car and i am sorry you lost it. I thought it was insulting the guy offered to sell you the car for 16K after he knew, they you know what he paid for it.

I hope you find yourself in another 928 soon.

cheers

No harm Ryan. Yes, I'm still VERY attached to the car, and would love to regain ownership if possible. But for $16K, it's totally out of the question.

BTW, the exhaust is custom all the way back. I didn't just cut the pipes off the stock system. There are 2 Spintech mufflers placed where the intermediate mufflers would normally reside, so it's quieter than most think, but still loud enough to make me smile. Also running MSDS headers, and a Dr. Gas 3" X-pipe before the mufflers.

Also forgot to mention that the wing is from 928 Specialists, and was made for the 928. I machined taller mounts for both better rearward visibility, and to get cleaner air off the roof. One drive through some high speed sweepers, and you quickly understand how much additional downforce it provides. It wasn't done to copy the Honda crowd.

Good to hear from you Chris.
I've chatted with the new owner, and he seems like a decent guy. He just got lucky that's all.
When you're ready for a new Shark, give me a yell. We'll find you something special.
And send my love to Christine.

Zero bids so far. Maybe he'll be more inclined to work with me on price.

Its funny the title of the car listing "this will be a classic one day"

One of my friends bought a 911 a few years ago, no start, no real inspection, AND after he won the bid the bank shopped the car around to see if they could get a better price from any dealers etc., but it was also less than 10 years old. Legally they are responsible for getting a fair market price, but auction law enforcement was all written to protect the "man" from us, not vice versa.

It does irk me more than a little that most ebay cars seem to be bought cheap and listed before the ink on the new title is dry.

I bet we see auction prices continue to drop until weather turns nice again in the spring.

Now lets see how long it takes for him to call me with a new price.

Looks like he relisted it at the same price and reserve. He's probably shocked as to why no one bid even though the auction showed lots of people watching it.
