No it wasn't Rick! Whew that would be too much... He was on the run but totally unscathed... It was indeed a nice drive - lots of tight twisties - in places there was way too much dirt & gravel on the roads and even a few good sized rock chunks - not good... Still despite that near miss (a really big drop off) no real damage to anyone. Worst part was the LA traffic on the way back...

As usual - pretty cool to have a line of 928's streaming past on the freeway...

I just got back home - 5 hours driving time - not bad - including sitting on the 91 freeway for 10 minutes not moving - for no apparent reason....

Back in SD. I'll get mine up as soon as possible. I have a slight situation where ATF is all over the back of my car that may be related to a loose cap on the ATF reservoir.

Here are a few I took..

Registration desk... Randy V's mobile cocktail bar.. some general 928 Intl shots, Chuck's new 90/91? Amazon Green GT, the Koenig7 and a matching engine color scheme, couple of custom interiors (one on a lady owner's pearl white car - with an upholstered rear wing to match the interior !) some fun run pics - including the scene of the (almost) crime

I had a great time, and it was fun seeing some of the folk that I meet at these types of affairs. There were five of us that ran to 928Intl in the morning, and it was a fun ride. Sorry I couldn't make the fun run. Thanks to Dan, Joe P., Mark Anderson and all those that help to make this super event possible.
I can hardly wait for Sharktoberfest 07

Thanks to Dan B., Mark A. and all who helped put on another great Sharktoberfest. Also a big thanks to Bill Swift & Andy "The Stig" for wrenching on my master cylinder. Could not have done it without Ron Perry, Tim Dey and 928 International for tools and other essentials, and to everyone else for all of the moral support. All in all it was a great weekend. Can't wait for next year.

Great pics! Keep them coming. I didn't get around to see all the cars or the funride, so the pics are very welcomed. I did have time to grab a beer from Randy, of course!

Thanks to Rob (BlownBeast) for installing my LC-1 WBO2 sensor and Bill Wilson for demo'ing the Sharktuner on my car. We didn't have time to finish a total tune, but that's just as well as I'm going to be making some changes this month (intercooler, higher PSI pulley). It was cool to see how the Sharktuner works and all the flexibility it has. One good side effect is that with the new LC-1 O2 sensor, my car seems to run better overall. You'd think that when I was getting some erratic A/F mixtures during the last dyno session it would have occurred to me that maybe the 170K mile O2 sensor should be replaced!

Anyway, back on topic - BIG THANKS to DAN BISE! Dan put together another totally fun Sharktoberfest. The Astor car collection (300 pristine cars) was a huge blast. The tour guides knew the cars inside and out and it was neat to see that these cars get driven regularly.

Anyone that missed that or the oustanding dinner last night needs to reconsider their priorities. Ask anyone who went to those events. Word to the wise for your next visit to Sharktoberfest - attend all the events!

THANKS AGAIN DAN and JOE PRIVATELLI and the rest of the SOCAL928 crew! And thanks to Mark Anderson, Jim Bailey and all the 928 International staff for hosting and supporting this great event again. And thanks to Randy for the rolling bar!

Great pics! Looks like it was an awesome event. I really wish I could have made it, but I was there in spirit as I lay strewn across the garage floor on my back while dropped my clutch (Damn that flywheel is glazed!).

It's good to see that the master bar tender is still praticing his craft! Good job guys!

Darien,
No judged or peoples choice prizes this year...

It would be nice to have a few peoples choice categories for next year - best bodywork, best engine, coolest 928, best of show. Judged events are a lot more work though... tough in an environment thats a bit cramped like SF.

Another Thank You to Dan, Joe, and of course to Mark, Big Jim, and Nicole and Carl's crew.

It was great to to see old friends and meet new enthusiasts, especially when they drop by in a Koenig and demo the ST! Thanks Bill.

The Astor collection is mind numbing, the web site doesn't do it justice, and to think that all 300+ pieces get road time is a job in itself.

A couple of side notes: Amy, I'll be the first to egg you on to create a SF '06 vid to rival your renown SATL work. ED, next time power out of a turn, I have a hard time imagining looking out over your hood and seeing nothing but sky. Joe, anyone that sit's down to a Hold'em table with you is a gonner! And of course Bill Ball and Bill Swift for random acts of tech assist and repairs. Randy, your car is on my "must see" list for next year.

Maverick, thanks for the goodies at the Sunday lunch! I expect to see a couple of door/car judging prizes next year.

Our first casuality...

And you just know that Woodie would float.

Now I know where to take my Dad and scare him silly the next time he's in town.
yeah, that course we took was pretty fun. as mike said, we actually turned around at the end to do it all again

that was me, thanks it now needs a wash really bad from all the dust/dirt being kicked up on the fun run.

I think this is my 3rd SF I have attended and it was great as always. Thanks to everyone who helped organize such an event. while i don't really have plans of getting a 928 in the near future, i'll definitely be back with the M3 next year.

Thank you Dan Bise & Joe Privatelli for all of your hard work this weekend and for your planning. Mark A., Jim B., Tom R. and the rest of the staff at 928 Int'l were just awesome as always.

Just a humorous note; as I and others were trying to help Luis with his manifold vacuum leak, we asked Jim B. for an S4 manifold to use as reference. As I was taking this manifold back into the shop Mark A. looked at me with this incredulous look on his face and asked "You removed his intake manifold?!?!?" Can't blame him as he saw me and others out there working on cars in various stages of disrepair and was probably wondering how many relics his shop was going to have on their hands once the event was over As Ron V. already said, thank you 928 Int'l for your generosity and patience in these matters. Ron had a serious situation on his hands and it was great we could get him on the road again.

Nerwbie here (Bob in Socal) thanks Bill awesome job. I am looking forward next year.
I have had Bmw E28's in the past 10 years, ( roadfly, mye28.com). I have always wanted the 928 and can't wait to try this 86.5 out. Looks like this is the place, thanks again!

My first trip to Sharktoberfest, and enjoyed it alot. Nice to see all the other cars and put faces to names, and thanks to Randy V for the liquid lubrication!
I had to depart right after lunch as my wife managed to smoke her clothes dryer, and I spent the rest of my day wrenching on a Kenmore!
Thanks to all the organizers, and to 928intl for the lunch.

Neil
