Another oil pressure question/concern

The oil used on most of my ski trips was 20-50 kendall. oil pressure always ran normal, even in extreme conditions. i didnt switch to redline until many race days were under the '84s belt.

In fact the SYNTHETIC oil you appear to be using is;
Oil 8 - "ARO" 20w-50 @32F = 989cSt (mineral oil No 1 data indicates it is 2.75 times thicker than yours)
The oil Frank MAY be using could be up to three or four times thicker than the one you use!
Mineral oils tend to thicken with use too so Frank's oil may be VERY thick indeed - going by your recent UOA, yours gets thinner with use!!
As we all know a master gauge is the best way to check OP variances - a digital OP check can be make on you car too Frank

Frank, sounds reasonable. IIRC there are check valves upstream of the pump which may be dirty... might be a good time to go in, clean those up, put a fresh sender and oil t-stat on there.

While 20w-50 dyno juice is not the best oil to run in freezing temps I suspect that hair gel-like oil is not 100% of the problem.
A couple of other things to check:
If your oil pan is leaking clean the connections to the oil pressure sender. (It's upside down, near the oil filter.)
If you oil pan is NOT leaking, when was the gasket replaced? (If the replacement was recent, then it is possible that the rubber o-ring at the top of the oil pickup tube was disturbed and is not sealing correctly. BTDT.)
