That would be fine Alan. I will take it from there.

Is this the correct cable for borland?

Rod,

Unfortunately, that's the terminal for the earlier relay socket. And the other end you have as male instead of female. So this won't work on either end.

What Alan suggested earlier (post #5) in this thread is probably what I’ll have to order. It looks similar to what Porsche used, but as Alan stated, not exactly alike.

I still also need the harness plug terminal.

Sorry for any confusion.

I have the large female end as well. I will do some research and see if I can get the right connector. If someone has an extra new style relay socket that they don't need........

Can you pull ot one of the relay socket plugs that have this in there already and take a picture. I do have other connectors in stock.

Rod,

Didn’t want to take mine apart, but here it is. Hope I remember how it goes back together.

Here’s a photo of the later relay socket (top bezel & housing) and connectors for the required jumper.

And a closeup of the connectors…

Side view of the relay terminal (Oh, these only fit the four corner slots on the socket, the other slots are for larger relay blades)....

The relay socket with top bezel…

One thing about this socket… You can’t remove the socket from the relay/fuse panel without unlatching the top bezel. Also, you can’t remove or install the terminals without unlatching the top bezel. Those fingers on the bezel actually hold the terminal in place more securely than by just the metal clip.

So installation of the terminal is more difficult than it first appears. Here’s the relay socket in unlatched position….

Sorry for the links. Maybe someone can post them here.

Are there any numbers on the plastic relay holder at all? They will be very small.

Let me know.

Thanks,
Rod

On the top, only markings are:
- pin assignments, 1-9
- Porsche part triangle
- part number, 928.610.511.00

On the bottom:

- 17008
- 2.73.211
- 3
- near the "17008" is a Circle (with what looks like a "7" in the lower half of the circle and a upside down "7" in the upper half of the circle.

That is all.

I am still looking for this connector but, I changed the connector to female for you and I think for the cost of postage it might be worth seeing if this will fit into the relay holder. I have a relay with the small tab and this connector does fit into the OB's.

Send me a PM with your address if you want to try it.

On the older cars I think the CE panel loom terminal is the same as the relay terminal. I'm still in for the 25 relay terminals, and if the later cars take a different terminal where the loom connects to the panel I'll take 25 of those. If you have them, I'll also take 25 of the small female blade terminals, as shown in post #29 above.

That's why I made up the one I did. The relay terminal is female and the A,B,C... connectors are males.

Dave send me an email to rod.kubis'at'rogers.com. I will send you the connectors but need your address.

Guys,

I found the part numbers for the "exact" replacement terminals. All available from Porsche on a 1- each cost basis.

Last month, on a purely guess basis, from the 944 PET, I had ordered one each from my local Porsche dealer. I checked today and the parts came in, but they never called me. Picked them up after work. Here’s the Porsche part numbers to order:

1. Small relay socket terminal:
P/N: 999.652.456.22, contact spring 0.75-1.5, $1.25 each

2. 6.3mm female flat blade terminal:
P/N: 999.652.106.02, flat receptacle 6.3x1.5 w/o clip, $1.25 each

3. Harness plug for 'A'-‘W’ connectors harness plug, female terminal:
P/N: 999.652.451.22, fitting piece 6.3/0.5-1.0, $1.50 each

Thanks for all the help. This has been one big headache for me. Hope this saves others some sourcing grief.

I have the 6.3mm flat blade terminal (item 2) for .40 if you are looking.
