I have been able to add a remote lock/unlock system to my '81. I am not sure how the logic from the central lock works but should be convertable given the success I have had with the remote locking update. I ended going to the relays and taping them for open/close functions and feeding that to the radio receiver.
It is really not well described anywhere I have found. What exactly do you want to do (replace what with what...? and what do you have now? and does it work?)
I know something about these systems - the operation is not actually very intuitive...
I would like to add the central locking button on the dash panel to my 83. What I really need to figure this out, is an operating description of the system from both years and a wiring diagram of each.
The WSM diagram for the 83 is readable but the later years can be hard to follow. Is there any clear(er) data out there?
Funny thing is you could more than likely retrofit an aftermarket alarm and keyless system easier than hack and slash the facory together. Pickup an extra keyfob and make it run on the car's power from a constant source like the car battery and make the central lock button on the console act as the fob's button... While electrically not the most eligant solution it would give you a keyless entry, central locking and the visual look you seem to be shooting for...
the wiring will be mildly different, ie. no plug, or different plug in the car for the current central locking system, as much as it would be nice to add, not worth it unless you have that part of the harness from a car that already has the button.
