The car is located in New Brighton, PA at Wolfe's Foreign Auto.
The temperature gauge always reads 3/4 the way hot.

Another Quote from the ad: "Now some of the minor quarks with this vehicle. The temperature gauge always reads 3/4 the way hot. The car is not running hot and runs at the proper operating temperature, the gauge is just lazy. It really goes crazy when you turn on the blower motor the gauge jumps to hot instantly. When you shut it off it goes back down to 3/4 reading. Sometimes it reads correctly. The voltage gauge also reads 12.5 charging volts, but it is really charging 14.2 volts. These have all been throughly tested and no problems are present, just lazy gauges."
Wow! I always wondered what was wrong with my guages. Now I know, they're just lazy.

giving the seller the benefit of doubt (unlikely)......he could have used the euro shortblock with a stock USA top end.....which could have been made 5.0L.....but seems really pointless with the stock USA heads-cams-intake-ignition.......
Heres another question......has anyone anywhere made a 500hp 16V 928 V8? I haven't heard of one?

Someone is very confused...first of all we never have sleeved a block , second when you build a 5 liter with 16 valve heads you use an 85-86 block and pistons which makes decent compression if you use S-4 pistons it has such low compression that it hardly will run! The N E racers LLoyd Shaw Veninger have struggled to see 300HP at the rear wheels running Euro Heads, runners headers, cams etc on modified 5 liter blocks. The big 16 valve engine Devore's car was built by Bud Hart and I have NEVER seen a Dyno Chart to confirm anything like the horsepower which was mentioned in the magazine article like many such claims that one borders on Urban Myth. This car does have a rebuilt speedo and new circuit board from 928 International in the last two years.

Thanks for chiming in on this Jim. Should you send the guy and inform him to remove incorrect info relating to your company? Someone not on the list might actually believe this stuff using your reputation as a guide.

I talked to the seller of the car this morning and he gave me some info on the engine. We sold the previuos owner a 5 liter long block with Euro heads and cams in 1996.

Those parts frm Mark, a couple gallons of Mobil-1, a K&N air filter and two pages of hot-rod goodies from the JC Whitney catalog might easily confuse a seller into thinking they had 500HP. Heck, if it had a Tornado he could make darn near 600! He's being conservative. "It feels like --ONLY-- 500hp!" -- That's how the wording should read.
You folks have no faith in the value of positive hot-airflow.

With the PD's and their resultant small tires, I don't think a working ***-o-meter would feel much either. It might be a more visual experience. A lot of tire smoke.
