Banner day for the frog yesterday 09/18 - BEST OF SHOW & SPEED TV
Hi all,
Been on radio silence for a while, really busy at work, house project, selling a couple cars (not any 928s.... yet) and a small issue with Atrial Fibrilation (Pulmonary Vein Ablation 10 days ago). Everything is good and I feel great!
To the point of this post. Yesterday at the Auto Fair at Lowes Motor Speedway my wife and I entered the blue GTS and the "frog" as part of the PCA display. There were approximately 85 Porsches from 356s all the way up to a new 997 TT. The only model missing was a 968 and a CGT. It was a peoples choice vote and the blue GTS took first and the frog took second in the 928 category. The big surprise was the frog won "people choice, best of show!"
Additionally, I did a prearranged interview with a producer from Speed TV for part of a show they are doing around the Barrett Jackson auction next year. If anything they taped of me or the cars makes the cut, it will appear on January 13, 2007.
All in all it was a great day culminated in the last picture as one of the 40 best of show winners congratulated by Humpy Wheeler (LMS president) and Craig Jackson. You have to look really close, they are the two guys standing on the very left edge of the pic. Funny story - Craig Jackson commented he'd never seen this interior on a 928 and my response was, "pretty cool huh? Tell your buddy Keith Martin (likes to bash 928s in his mag, Sports Car Market) a 928 won BOS today!" My wife thought that comment was pretty funny....

Congrats!
I think 'The Frog' is totally cool and appreciate it for what it is. However, the front fender height with respect to the wheel makes it look like a 4 x 4; I wonder why Porsche designed it as such?

Hey Chuck - congrats on winning best of show. Would you mind posting some pictures of the interior?
I was telling my SO about it and she couldn't visualize what I was describing.
Thanks! Beautiful cars you have!!!
