This morning at 7:15 the announcer's first comment was recognizing the 928 owners. I wonder why? We had a great time, and can't wait for another chance to get together. Here are a couple more pictures from Daytona

We totaled 18 Sharks for the weekend, just not all there at the same time! Not bad for a first year event. PCA was thrilled with the overall event & we were most definately noticed and commented on very positively by the event coordinators in our solidarity of 928s! I'll post some pics later. Many thanks to all who attended & to Russell & George A who anchored the weekend at the track for us!!

We had a great time. It was good to see some familiar faces and meet a few more. We're looking forward to Sebring. Hopefully Steve will not be there. Thanks for getting us in Friday night, Russell.
Hey Mel, I still owe you for the hats. Send me a PM with your address.
Here's a couple of pics I took on Saturday.

We really appreciate you making the drive from north of Atlanta to come down to the event Mike, especially in bringing your family too. The weather was perfect for the weekend. Hopefully next year a few more of your fellow Peach State Sharkers can drive down with you.

Arlene Charest drove all the way from Conneticut to mid Florida, pick up her daughter Laurie, then drive to Daytona in her early 80s Shark. Such an effort deserves a big WOOO HOOOOO!! This two Porsche owning GrandMom has decided to switch her two Porsches & keep her Shark in Florida & her 968 cab up north!

Interesting some of the people who found their way to our collection of Sharks. Including the track announcer who is also a Shark owner & was corraled by George A to come join us for a visit! Always good to have the track announcer on your side!

Also had a younger gent drive up on his scooter Sunday & said he raced 928s, but didnt have his car with him. He was there helping out another racer. Turns out, he knows both David Lloyd & Stan Shaw! Said he races with them & works for a competitor of David's in Conneticut! He was impressed to learn that both have brought their Sharks down to race in Florida in the past & now he hopes to one day too!

It was a bit of a shame & truly ironic, that out of over 260 racers there for the weekend, some from as far away as Washington State, there were NO 928s racing, yet we were the ONLY group of Porsche owners there in organized force attending the races! The PCA race officials, etc. definately took notice of us & commented on how they appreciated our efforts & they needed to have other Porsche models represented in the future as well as the 928s were! I'm thinkin by next year we need to storm the gates(& Steve the guard) with about five 928 racers & really show them what its all about!

Of the total of 18 928s there for the weekend, we had 15 different sharks there at some point on Sat. & about 13 as the most at any one time. We also had a 1970 911T with only 63,500 miles on it join us on Sunday & my son brought his Roush Mustang by on Sat. night. By my count the total attendance including family, friends, & guests over the course of the weekend was 37 people!! Very nice group indeed!

My 6 year old son Mathew and I had a great time on Saturday. Mathew went kind of crazy with the digital camera snapping pics of everything he could see. I will try to post some of his pics over the next few days. Thanks and it was a pleasure meeting all of you. Also, thanks for the nics comments on the supercharger setup.

I would like to thank all who attended and also recognize those who had every intention of showing up. One thing I took away from this event is that Daytona would be perfect for a gathering of all Porsche clubs. I could imagine plots on either side of the infield driveway representing the numerous groups who worship their particular model. We could even have some sort of ceremony toward the end of the weekend which would gather representative cars from each style for a photo-op. This inspiration comes from the sheer magnitude of this facility, with it's international cred, the time of year, which is usually conducive to stellar weather, and the potential for a collective "lovefest"
