Default Silver GTS thread deleted?

What happened? Can thread be deleted by someone other than admin once there is more than one post in it?

Just PM me or e-mail me at partysover@sbcglobal.net to get all of the pics and info again. Why on earth they would ever pull such a useful thread is beyond me.

I've seen alot of threads on here that I would consider taking precedence for removal over this one!

Great deal on an extremely rare car. What is the %#@ is wrong with posting info about that?

If you didn't delete it or ask Randy to remove it, it must have been done because you are not member.

I'd previously discussed this with Tod.

I had asked him to sign up for Membership if he wants to continue profiling his 'finds' here.

While he indicates he has no vested interest in these cars, he is a reseller of 928s.

Randy,

I was a member for 4-5 years and then my membership ran out. I really thought I resigned up for a new membership, but maybe it was an oversite on my part.

I'll tell ya what. I'll go ahead and resign up right now. Give me 5 minutes.

I think it is ridiculous to post here, and expect real responses when you are too cheap to contribute the $18 f*cking dollars [It is actually $17.95 to be exact for two years] for the thousands of dollars of advice you will gain here.

My case:

I paid $10,600 on May 5, 1999 for my 928, the first Porsche I had ever owned. I tried to bargain him down, but he wouldn't do it, and I knew what an S2, or "euro" imported car was-

[From all the internet searches I'd done on 928's... I bought a car over the internet in 1994, my previous car, a '92 VW Corrado VR6]

Since then? I have spent about $13,000 on this 928 since I bought it in 1999. $3100 of that is just for the interior upgrades...which basically means that I pulled and re-tanned the whole full-leather interior. The rest is maintenance, but also huge upgrades with the exhaust and the wheels, which I have changed and the tires which I have a nearly encyclopaedic knowledge of, at least in the 17 inch size!

I'm certain that the value of the maintenance, in terms of $100 per hour, since I bought the car would probably run upwards of $10,000~ I've avoided spending that sum largely because of my natural technical nature, the fact that I have fantastic eyes, and eye-hand coordination that scares people when they watch me play a video game.

If you had to pay someone to do this stuff? Forget it. Unless you are a millionaire and don't care about $, then walk away!

-That GTS was cool, but it was in need of a total repaint. $6000 at least, and that's if you don't remove the windows. The seat leathers needed to be replaced- That is $1000 for new Alan Gunn leathers, and $300 to install them [I did this on my car]. But then tell me: What else is actually wrong with it? My car is having issues with the MAF connector right now. It usually goes like the bat from the proverbial hell, the 2-valve that kills C5 corvettes! I have the new powder-coated intake, and I wipe it down all the time with Armor-All. No, I'm not interested in selling my car, unless you want to pay me $25,000 or something stupid.

-If Randy decides to exclude someone then he has my TOTAL agreement. Most people don't care for his actions, but he is now managing a website, which means he has a job that pays him something and as such he has some responsibilities. I do the same, believe it or not- I manage a website as an administrator for pictures at www.fr8ghtdog.com.

I'm not going to comment about the subject of "Crew Resource Management", or an organized system that teaches you not only how to prioritize your workload, but also how to divide and assign such. I sometimes suspect Randy would benefit from the class on CRM that I used to teach to American Airlines pilots at the school house in Dallas.

Okay, I'm officially a member again! That should be very exciting news to most of you. Let's just say.......................I'm baaaaaaack!

I felt a little crazy and opted to put up the big $$$ for the 2 year membership. That will assure I'll be around for a while. Good deal!

I'm so glad to be back as an actual member. This changes everything!

P.S. Randy, how long before it shows my actual "member" status?

That couldn't be farther from the truth. I do resell these cars, but usually look for low mileage 5 speed cars. This one was such a great deal (to me it would be, anyway), but due to the automatic tranny and higher mileage, I had to pass.

So therefore, as any good Rennlister would do, I went ahead and posted on it, thinking someone would get a really sweet deal.

I have absolutely no affiliation with this seller whatsoever.

Todd does buy and resell 928s, generally very low mileage 5spds.... the rest he posts here for anyone interested... and he does come across some very nice cars, I see nothing wrong with his postings
he has also been very helpful to me in obtaining information on a couple cars I was dealing with in one way or another
