Thanks Earl. 92A is same code which was used '83 already. Water based paints usually got different code even though color stayed same.

When you say it is over due for TB/WP do you mean they have never been done? I'm just wondering how that could happen on a vehicle that was "serviced to the teeth". Or was it done on schedule but it has been so many years that you think they should be done again. With 78k miles I'm trying to figure what makes sense.

Looks very clean inside. I would have an independant PPI. It seems unusual for doctor(s) to have it serviced to death and neglect the paint. I wonder what it looks like underneath?

Well, it was last done around 40K, but that was nearly 9 years ago! It's both mileage, and DEFINITELY age that would be reason enough to have it transported back to your hometown. That is unless you happen to live in Scottsdale, AZ. Even then, just starting it would scare me.

As far as the "servicing it to the teeth" part goes, I really don't have a good answer as to why a good mechanic would disregard such an important and huge moneymaker item? The doctor (seller) says he has a pile of service records from both him and the previous doctor who both had it serviced at the same repair facility.

I did speak with the mechanic personally, and got the impression he's one of those "nose up in the air" kind of guys. I think he's more into the fact he owns an exotic repair facility, than he is at actually properly diagnosing and doing preventative maintenance.

The doctor does have a stack of service records though, an actual locking Porsche car cover, the original CD-2 in-dash etc., so at least he took care of it personally.

If your genuinely interested in the car guys, I'll gladly give you his number. Just PM me, or better yet, hit me on my personal e-mail address at partysover@sbcglobal.net. Feel free to call me as well, as the owner and I have spoken many times. My number is 317-506-3022. Todd Johnson.

I'm always glad to help.

Always get a PPI, but I'm sure underneath is nearly flawless. It is an Arizona car, you know.
