I guess I'm gonna try and do what I can with the '82 and then try to find a cheap mechanic to get it going...or I'll get a keg and some pizzas when I get the parts and see who shows up!?

Since I wouldn't be the first to mention the dread HF, this site is an interesting read. A gathering of resources, linx and comments on a perennial topic of discussion/complaint:
http://www.toolcrib.com/blog/2008/08...d-the-abysmal/
"buyer beware: a harbor-freight buying guide the good enough the bad and the abysmal"

No connection with any of them.

Be aware that Craftsman has a limited replacement policy.

They will replace any "hand tool" that is broken; however, that does not include torque wrenches.

I have a 1/2" drive 150lb Craftsman torque wrench. About a year after I purchased it the locking ring on the handle broke and I took it back to Sears. They REFUSED to replace it. I mentioned their replacement of hand tools and the manager stated that hand tools DO NOT include torque wrenches even though they are marketed as a hand tool.

I have also heard of some of their speciality tools being non-replaceable.

Sears no longer hands you a new ratchet - you get a rebuilding kit now.

One comment on wrenches - don't ever bother buying a cheap set of flare wrenches. Craftsman are marginal, SnapOn are noticeably better.

Got a very nice set of SK flare nut wrenches off of ebay. Very good, strong heads on 'em, and still much cheaper than Snap On. Still, it's nice to have the Snap On truck stopping by the shop across the street every monday. Couldn't get a seat belt bolt off, had been working through sunday night and stripped both torx heads I had (cheap harbor freight and a Husky one). Snap on guy rolls in, fits a new one (a size 47??? torx, WTF? Can't these idiot car makers use standard sized bolts? No wonder the other sockets broke), yeah $20 for one socket, but it worked. Sometimes expensive DELIVERED tools are a blessing. Also, it appears that Snap on's patent for those nice 'flank drive' tools is over, so SK and others are redesigning their six point sockets, open end and box end wrenches. Get the upgraded ones when you shop, the older models are still out there.
