I would like to open the hatch on my car...but the lock is missing on the back. Is there a way to open the hatch without using the key?
On a side note, I can't get my sunroof to open. The button in the center doesn't do a thing. Is there something I can do to get this working?
Thanks

Casey:
There is a pull **** between the driver's seat and the door that release the back hatch. Driver's door needs to be open for this to work.
As for sunroof, there could be several issues. The first step that I would check is to see if your fuse is okay. Check your owner's manual to see which fuse governs the sunroof. Fuses are behind the carpet in the passenger's footwell.
If it is not a fuse issue, then let the group know and we'll suggest further possibilities.
Peace,
TIm

If the hatch lock is actually not there, you should have a hole? Turning the key moves a nylon thing to release a latch from the receiver - try pushing inwards into the hole forward, horizontally and see if anything feels like its giving under pressure. Failing this, climb into rear area , remove the lining/tool carrier inside the rear panel, you should see the receiver in the centre behing a metal brace. Look for a nylon piece on the front side, push it backwards, hatch should pop a bit upwards....

Well, I climbed in the back of my car and did some looking. I popped open the hatch with a screw driver and once it was open I inspected the latch. Now I know how it works and I can get it open by sticking my finger in the hole where the lock should be. I haven't tried anything with the sunroof yet.
However, I have another problem. The latch on the hood of my car doesn't seem to be working. I have to slam down the hood in order for it to close, but if I push down in the right spots it pops back up again. So, to prevent it from flying up while I'm driving I have it tied down right now.
I know I can buy a new latch for the hood from 928 International, but I think the problem might not be with the latch, but with what it latches on to, on the front part of the car. (I can't think of the name right now) Is there a place I can buy a new one of those if that turns out to be the problem? Or does anybody have a solution that doesn't require that?
Thanks

It may well just be the alignment of the hood... check how the catch aligns to the hole - particularly look at how the spring plate mates to the round receiver. You can adjust the position by loosening the 2 bolts each side of the hood @ the hinge plate - careful - small movements...
Also look at the movable latch inside the hole - is it in the right place to latch the pin in the middle of the spring on the hood - push back the spring - is the latch edge clean or chewed up...
Also make sure the 2 rubber stops are there in the front corners under the hood edges to stop the hood twisting... they screw in to adjust with rubber domed tops...
