Wow, that's how wrinkle finish should look like. I tried mine but it didn't work out that nice
No I don't have aq 12 cilinder 928. It's just that I have 1 bad cam tower with cracks in the bores. Camshaft came out really hard!

I did not realize how hard it would be to clean the gaskets from the head and block.

But as you can see from the pictures below, light pitting has started and the gaskets have left a shadow

Its hard to tell from the pictures but I believe most of the black will come of with continued labor, but in all my years working in a automotive dealer I have not seen the gaskets this hard and the aluminum so stained

Brad-

Those heads look like they'd clean up nicely with a tiny bit of skimming on each one. You can take up to .008 off and still use the stock 1mm head gaskets, or if necessary up to 0.4 mm (0.016") and use Porsche's thicker gaskets (928 104 367/8 11) Your cylinder bores look great. Someone before you wasn't real good about changing coolant, tho....
