Historically interesting, but I can't believe Porsche wasted man hours making those abominations. Yuk. What a waste of perfectly good 928's.

I thought the doors on the factory car were conventional. Are the rear doors also suicide doors on the factory car? If so then the factory is an easy pick!

I think that Kevin might.

Although he may not agree that this pic was its best side, not to worry, it won't be looking like that much longer. It's in some very good hands.
Another nice GT saved from the parts man. & I can attest, this is a very nice example - aside from the little bump it suffered on its starboard flanks which looked much uglier than it actually was.

My obligatory pic...my 928 Shrine

JPTL,

What scale is the black 928? 1:18? & what's the brand?

Today I sent my car to a small workshop near my house who do Euro cars- to fix my window (passenger side)- The motor still works but the small plastic wheel to allow the window to roll up & down is broken. He manage to find a small wheel made of steel & replace it:

This is the culprit-Manage to replace with a small similar wheel which the mechanic modified it to fit to the regulator.! Now the passenger window works!!

Still waiting for parts(TB, AC parts etc)....

Z, both of the larger black models are 1:24. Wish they were 1:18, but it looks like the AUTOart line that Nicole carries is the only decent 1:18 model available. I'm waiting for an S4 GT or GTS by them
The black in the case is a Fujimi plastic kit. Basic, but very accurate detail-wise. The other black is a pre-assembled metal. Not as detailed or as accurate as the Fujimi - particularly the rear wing. I put some 5 spoke wheels on it & painted the interior gray to make it look better.
Several years ago I grabbed up a bunch of these metal models when they were still on the shelves. They're sitting in my closet gathering dust. I messed with the look of them by sticking different wheels on them(much cheaper than 1:1 scale wheel mods )

JPTL,

Thanks for the info- Your collection looks awesome!
I do hope sometime in the future, some toy maker co. would decide to do the 928 GTS in 1:18

Imo000,

haha- Porsche should've have use the steels instead of plastics. I even compliment the mechanic that he should work for Porsche

This is what happens when you're sitting at a red light, minding your own business & get rear ended at 25 mph by an idiot driving a Ford Contour.

Repair estimate was $21,322.19. I especially enjoyed the 19 cents....
