@9two8 Hi Ken , thanks ! been plaged with bad plugs those two rallies. Think set #6 is in it.... concentraded me on the AFR jetting of the Weber IDA48 carbs but assume it's now fine enough to not foul plugs on such short time.
Now we think weak ignition , still using the old oem ( '82) system. Converted it to a modern ignition module with 12V coil without ballast resistor. I do keep the oem distributor & green wire. Engine runs again perfect with it , still to test drive and see for plugs heat range for best results.... in the hope we can do at least one full rally with a fresh set of plugs.
Shifting stays fine with a transaxle cooler installed , as i found during the first rally it got a bit worse with time = temperature . Perhaps more heat due the limited slip diff then the gearbox itself ? at least one problem solved

Taken from the boat I lived on at the time, my 81 USA Manual in its parking spot.
The boat pictured was my neighbor's .. a 1971 110' Burger "Chanticleer" owned by Francis Langford Evinrude.
These were some fun times!

Boat I lived on for about four years....with my dog. I'd say close quarters except the prior owner, a dentist, lived aboard with his two teenage daughters. They must've had impressive interpersonal skills.
