Stuff you don't see every day...

A (ravaged) fuel tank sender from 9288100012. looks much like the later ones except for metal bottom cup and hand scribed part number. The scribed top and the metal cup will all end up with new sender guts, back into the 1976 tank, and back into the car where it belongs.

Now driving to work about twice a week, did not like the steering wheel so put this in. Off of eBay think it looks good and more comfortable while driving.

New wheel leather and wood.

^It looks we share interior colors! Dark Brown and Tan? I actually like my steering wheel, if I was road racing no, for highway driving I'm happy with it.

On the stock wheel where my thumbs rest is right on the stitching and for me is uncomfortable, it is smooth leather where they rest with this wheel. Also the stock wheel is really kind of plain!

The stock steering wheels on all the 928's is kind of a joke really. They had so many options and they went from bulky, strange and finally in the GTS they chose a pillow truck-wheel..;

So many nicer wheels avaliable...;

@Tops2808 looks like we share the model/year and colour. Your interior fabric option looks interesting. Do you have any other photos? I will soon have to decide on my fabric choice to replace the worn original.

They had to squeeze the airbag in for '90 and later.

Yes, this is well known and true. Airbagmodules have obviously become slimmer with the years. I know I'm steering up some feelings here with this thing. But it is a very bulky wheel nonetheless. Corvette had a similar bulky steering wheel. I just think they could have done some nicer design on the topcover to "hide" the square-shape more.

Picture..:
