That's one of the factory wide body Golfs used to test the new 928 engine on the streets of Germany in the early 1970's. I can not recall how many they built but it was something like four!

This was the Audi 100 Coupe mule. They built three of them.

No. These were Audi 100's and the first "Golf" was made by Artz, who also made this sho

oting brake.

This car is on display at the Sbarro Museum. I had the opportunity to inspect it while there. It's nicely done.
Another one, at least, was produced, and maybe a third.
