I've heard of string cheese, but never string rabbit. Looks like an aluminium belly pan will be on order soon.
Cheers to all who ran and to their support groups.

Put on my raaaacing helmet.
Time to kill the waaaabbit.
Great job guys.
I have trouble staying within 1 mph of 55mph. Unless under close scrutiny.
From seeing the Gap pictures, aren't you speed demons allowed to use full width of the road? Or is it real dusty gravelly offline.
Forward shields to max.

You can use the full width of the road on Practice day and during the race. However our definition of the full width is not the same as on a track. Most of us stay several feet away from the inside and outside line on both sides. Uneven pavement, gravel or "chunked" roadway may cause you to drop a wheel off and nobody wants to do that.
Great picture of the Gap George. It gives a good idea of what running 140 + through the canyon is like.

Ernest,
I took a late apex out of the turn and stayed tight to continue on to the next turn.
This section of road has a lot of turns in a short distance. Makes for a fun ride. But
as Tim said at these speeds out in the middle of nowhere, you've got to leave yourself a
little extra margin of safety.

Yes, as George says, there are some left - right turn sequences that require you to hold the inside line on the first turn, like in the House turn area of the Gap. I was using all the road, and as the car moved around on the rubberband-like suspension, it took lots of concentration to keep myself from overcorrecting into the ditch.

Dang, Bill! You are fortunate to not have crashed hitting that rabbit... I saw a car crash badly at the old Fremont drag strip hitting a jackrabbit in the traps at about 130...
Congrats to all of you for doing so well!
