Do you have a front license plate on?

No I don't. In Utah, it's allegedly the law too. But if you drive down any road, you'll see about 40% of cars and trucks without front plates. It's never enforced to my knowledge.
OTOH, my daily driver is a new Audi A6 - with the large, gaping grill. I mounted a front plate on that car because I think it breaks up the huge grill and makes the car look better.

Not on the 928, but on my previous car which started life in Florida where it's not required, when I moved to IL I didn't bother to remount the front one (since I'd lost all the stuff to do so). One time when I got pulled over, it was mentioned, but the officer didn't give me a ticket. He pulled me over for expired tags, plus I didn't have my license with me, no proof of insurance, and no front plates. got tickets for the tags and no insurance. I was driving the car around the block after a car wash, just for the hell of it, and I got pulled over.
That's the only hassle I've gotten, but it was also the only time I've been pulled over in IL with no front plates.

LOL
I took 2 of my cars to a local hot rod event, and the CHP were doing 'friendly' vehicle checks. They pointed out the front plates on both my cars were obscured : 928, not vertical and could not be read from a distance, and the state was not visible - unless you bent down - on my Land rover!
They said neither was worth a ticket, just commented!

Nope. My front plate was under the rear mat by the spare tire well when I bought the car. I have no frame for it anyway. I have never been pulled over for no plate, yet.

No front plate.
Some cities, like Beverly Hills, have been installing red-light cams to improve revenue and safety (in that order...). They aggressively go after missing front plates, since they need a picture of the car with your smiling face and the plate in the same frame.
I have printed a plate and have it velcro'd inside the bra for real road trips. Just stuck the plate on the scanner and voila! An easy cure. I guess I could get a dislexic scanner, and get a digit out of order. That could avoid several problems at once. Hmmm. Mount it in a nice frame for times when the bra isn't on there. No officer, I never thought the DMV would actually get the plates out of order in the envelope.
