Unfortunately the front license bracket on my 85 left 4 holes and two big, black squares which do not rub out. Regardless the license plate is still off the car and in the hatch area.

Well, I guess I will never know what someone considers offensive. But be advised that you should first check the true meaning and origin of what you are presumed to be criticizing before criticizing it. You might be the offensive one.
The words in question shall stand.

Ron--

I think the comment was about the words "photo radar" (really should be "radar photo"...), but we aren't blaming you for its existence.... yet.

Naughty me. Shame on me. I'll be more careful.

I agree.

There are so many vehicles around here without one, I never put one on.

nope. only been cited 1x in 10yrs (when pulled over for a carpool violation that was blown when he finally saw the kid in my back seat/putz "had to" write me up for SOMETHING) stuck it on w/double sided tape in the chp parking lot, had it signed off, and it's been in my pax door storage ever since.

I don't run red lights, so it's moot/they'll have to find other ways to extract extra $$

My shark was never drilled for a front plate mount. I'll be damned if I'm going to do it. My front plate is on the wall of my garage.

Around here, no license plate/obscured plate is a fix-it ticket. It costs $10 plus the time to get it signed offf,,meaning going to the bear den and getting a bear to sign off. But a red light or radar photo ticket is $300. A no brainer for sure.

Here in Connecticut, we are required to have a front plate.....so I've place a euro plate on the front of mine!

No plate, no desire for one. I think it looks much cleaner without. I haven't been hassled about a front plate in decades -- not since I quit actively looking for trouble.

You quit actively looking for trouble?? No wonder no one has seen or heard from you for so long. Surely has been quiet around here.

Yeah, Dave, what's up with that? We have barely heard a peep from you since Sharks at the Lake!

Ron, it may not seem that way to you, but you didn't know me 20 years ago either.

I've been spending a lot of time trying to get settled in the new place -- buried in projects, with lots more on the horizon. Add to that, two people left my team at work in the last month and I've been covering for them as well. And no, it's not a bad sign that they left, it's a good sign. Long story that I won't get into here....

Anyway, don't worry, you two.... Before long I'll be stirring stuff up like old times and you'll be asking me, "so Dave, when are you going to move again?"

Jesus Good God mother ****in ******** in Fife Washington actually stopped me for not having a front plate on last Friday…Freaking Barney Fife’s had nothing better to do then do bother sum ole 18 year old Porsche fan driving to KFC for a bucket of chicken. If I had been driving any slower I’d been parked!!!

The bummer…I apparently did not have a current copy of my insurance card in the glove box and wa-la!...a $535 dollar ticket for no proof of insurance until I show up and prove I have insurance…which I do of course…but. Gee…now I have to fly back to Washington…to court and show proof and have the ticket busted down to $25 bucks.

But…after 25 years in the TV news biz I knew if I was to have a bad day it would probably be in some small town like Fife Washington.

It's law to have it in Va. That said I don't have mine on and won't put it on either.
