Nothing to do with air flow or heat.

Do a search and there are some nice alternatives out there, some on eBay as well.
Dave Lomas sells the best ones IMOO.

The GTS ones are $150 - 200 each IIRC.
When mine give up I will be calling Dave Lomas.
Hey Roger wouldn't you substitute with your EIS system?? Is the EIS also suitable for the GTS?

Cheers

Plenty fitted to GTS cars

Here is a simple but elegant solution. A vinyl or similar type material with a large zipper. Preserves the original status of the engine bay and solves the issue of end cuffs since the originals are not disturbed.

BTW - I went with one of Bills spare sets in my later upgrade... I would never put on (or keep on) the crappy GTS intake tubes - they are just horrible looking and horrible construction... just a bad materials choice.

Big thanks to Bill for sourcing enough material for me to get these ... standard GTS ends - punched for the belt cover ports with snap port rings.

According to Jim Bailey, the insulation qualities were negligible (Porsche did tests and except when idling, the air moves too fast to get heated) and the new ones come with a sticker that damages the rubber when you try to remove it; I went with new S4 tubes. I kept the old ones and if I can find a suitable material, I will recover or respray them. If anybody knows of a fexible spray-on sealant???
