myself personally I have not. I'm waiting for my wrench right now to get the bilstein/eihbach setup to replace the stock tired Boges that are on right now so I will have him adjust ride height at that time. I don't know if either of the POs had it lowered, but based on how stock the car was when I got it, I would be surprised.
my wheels are the 19" Carrera Classics. 295/30 rear 235/35 front.

IIRC they are blue. and the car has way too much bounce. with the tight clearance in the rear, fenders are rolled and flared a bit just with the ole bat, i get rub on bumps or hard acceleration, especially on a turn. once that *** gets a stiffer setup, i should be good to go.

Did you have any problems with the caps in front?

I'm not crazy about the size of the rear tires. A better choice would be:
265/35-18
But the absolute best (if it clears the fender lip) would be: 285/30-18
These are hard to find though. only -0.5% circumference difference from orignal.

Congrats on the new wheels. They do look excellent

I thought the same thing with the 265/40 (26.3") tires vs the 24.7" stock rear tires.......I've found that the speedo-odo really isn't off all that bad......with these exact same wheels I've gone through roadside radar traps usually within 1mph of what the speedo reads.....I guess the factory speedo was a touch optimistic?

Of course the 285/30 is the best & I do think it would fit without rolling....it would be close.....but should fit?

I put them on my 85 a couple of months ago too, fit like a glove. Like Paul said the tire size is not the best and the 285/30-18 is perfect. When the Conti's wear out I plan on replacing with BF Goodrich gForce T/A KDW2, they are available in 285/30-18. They look good with the colored crest caps!

I'd love to see some pics of that setup as I just bought some Turbo Twist "look" wheels. Sizes are:

Ft: 18 x 8 1/2", offset of 52: 225/40 ZR18
RR: 18 x 10", offset of 65: 265/35 ZR18

The rears appears to fit fine and it looks like I can keep the spacers on the rear, but the fronts look like they may be sticking out too far. They were a good deal, so I bought them anyway thinking if the front offset is not going to work, that I can always sell the fronts and buy the two front wheels with the correct offset, or go with a 8" front wheel instead of the 8.5" wheel.

I posted some pics of my setup in another thread "Bret's Shark gets new Kicks"

Most everyone likes them but have suggested that I use some spacers to push the rear wheels out more. I'm taking that under advisement but for now I'm pretty happy.

Besides the style - the only thing different between your setup & mine is the front offset. Yours is 52mm & mine is 55mm.

Thanks for posting. The new wheels look great on your car. And judging by this pic, I can see your front setup looks almost exactly the way my setup looked when I test fitted it, so, with the small difference in the front offset, I should be good to go. Although I will be doing a test run and keeping an eye on things up there when I do so.

For your rear setup, mine were definitely pushed out more towards the edge and really filled up the wheel well, must be due to the spacers that I have on the rear. Personally, I don't think your setup needs the spacers, I think it looks great just the way it is, but on the other hand, if you want the wheels more out towards the edge, the spacers will get you there.

What size spacers did you use? Didn't you say you already had the spacers before going with the wheels?

Yes, the spacers were on the car when I bought it from Heinrich, and he told me the rear spacers come on the '85 S stock, so, I'm assuming that is correct.

And I'm not sure the exact size on them, but just eye balling them, they appear to be between 3/4 - 1" thick.

When I get out there this weekend to fit everything I'll take an actual measurement and report back. That is, if some knowledgeable lister does not post the actual thickness before I get a chance to report back.

Ok, update, I'm guessing the spacers on my '85 are 21 mm based on the fact that 928 Specialists lists a "S" spacer of 21 mm which equals approx 0.83 inch. That sounds about right from what I could tell of mine when I eyeballed it yesterday.
