Default Bret's Shark gets new kicks!

Well I finally got my wheels mounted. What'd ya think?

Those 265/35x18s sure fills up the rear wheel wells and they fit perfectly. The front 225/40x18s aren't any different space wise up front just improved the looks. Did all the checks to make sure there wasn't any clearance problems. I then performed a "spirited" road test and observed no handling problems. In fact I think Ride quality isn't any better or worst than it was before. Cosmetically they look cool but now that they’re exposed I’ll probably refinish & paint the calipers – red maybe. But then again I think I might need to consider looking into a big brake kit to fill up those 18” openings.

It looks a bit skinny in the rear, maybe spacers would help to bring them out a bit..

Hmmm? Really? What do you think I should add back there? The rears offset is already 65mm.

The Gottis are indeed light. I was surprised to discover that they were actually lighter than the new Carrera Lightweights I installed. But besides having seen better days they are just a bit dated. Probably going to list them for sale in classified soon or maybe on Ebay. .

Nice wheels Bret. Looks like you need a bit more tire on the rears though. I think that is giving the illusion of the offset issue mentioned above.

Hey Neil, I know we talked about meeting last week but the A/C shop had the car until Saturday. I'll drop you a line later this week and I'll swing by if that's still ok? Other than that there's the Karting thing on Saturday but my wife still hasn't agreed to it yet. Probably going to be a last minute thing if we go at all.
