Sunroof rattle ended
I know with a lot of therapy, the rattling noises I hear in cars wouldn't bother me so much. Whenever I ride in a car I am very much aware of these extraneous noises.
Anyway, I found that one big rattle from my sunroof area was coming from the sunroof motor cover. It is held in place by two slide-in feet in the front and a spring wire in the rear. The springwire was the problem. The cover will stay in place with just the slide-in feet but it will vibrate. You must hook the spring-wire attached to the roof into a hook on the cover first; then push the cover rearward and engage the slidin-in feet in front. Then slide the cover forward and you are locked in solid.
No more rattle or vibration. If mine was like this I bet someone else's is like that too. Hope this helps someone.
I gotta get some therapy.....

LOL!
I didn't have a rattle until i removed the cover to refurb it ( the trim was coming unglued) and replaced it without first really taking note of how it came off.
Same problem, didn't have the spring engaged correctly. Do now thanks to you!

I work on my car a lot. That's therapy for me. I spend too much of the day manipulating numbers and writing tech pubs to support my habits. Doing a little hands-on 'real' work every once in a while keeps the Jeckyl side at bay.
I'm right on the edge of that dividing line that separates the sane from the rest. Which edge, you have to ask...

... or pushing back. Depends on which side I'm on at any given moment.
Makes for an interesting discussion group.
My shrink says I'm a little psychotic, but the voices in my head tell me I'm not!

cd,
Try wedging a Bic pen in the closed sunroof opening, over the trim. It sometimes applies pressure to a loose part.
Good luck.

I have a sunroof 'rattle'- It is caused by the vinyl expanding on the hottest days therefore sagging and flapping at times on the back of the sunroof structure.
Besides injecting epoxy behind the vinyl so it will adhere to the back of the sunroof panel is there a better easier way.
