This is a picture of Steve Bluh turning my wrenches to fix a leak at the Fuel pump check valve on Rick Powers' 928 at the rally point outside of Golden. I was following Rick from the start and noticed some dripping from his car and thought it might have been condensation from the AC. By the time we reached the rally point i could see that the dripping was coming from the fuel pump area. With Steve Bluh's excellent support we were safely back on the road again to the Stanley Hotel. I never go far in my 928 without a small selection of tools, and this time it paid off.

While in the parking lot at the Stanley hotel i was admiring Fred Clark's GT and the new Antera wheels that he just replaced his Rivas with. A 928er made the comment, " Fred changes wheels more than i change my underwear." As i admired the wheels someone (probably Fred) mentioned the wheel's lack of a visible valve stem. To fill the tires a small cap is removed from the wheel center section and an adapter is inserted. Very sharp!

Thanks Darien, they were on Ebay and nobody bid on them! I've finally found the look I was searching for and these will be keepers. If anyone's interested in a set of Turbo II hollow spokes with 225 and 295 Pirelli Pzero tires, 8" front and 11" rear on 18" rims then send me a PM.

Default T shirt

I had someone ask me about a T shirt I was wearing Saturday at the tech session. I can't remember who it was now. The shirt I have is grey colored and had a caption and graphic regarding to the 928 S4 1987 Bonneville speed record.

My wife bought the shirt from The Paisley Group.

Look about 3/4ths way down the page. It's called "Speed Record T" and is available in several colors.

Paragon motors whom hosted the Saturady tech sessions had a 355 motor out and sitting on the floor for a timing belt service . It's cool how the motor, transmission, and rear suspension come out as a complete sub-assembly.

A close-up of the Ferrari cam timing. Notice how the Ferrari's water pump is run on the backside of the timing belt?

Uhh, Ben?
As this isn't the first "mistake", I'd better correct it, before it gets indelibly imprinted on everyone's mind!

Brett Rickman isn't my name. It may be my allotted screen name..... Heinrich asked for me at the hotel, and I couldn't be "found". I wonder who and how he found lodging with.....

My name is Brett Matthews. I got saddled with the combination of my previous screen name, and my real name, when at one point I was deleted from the list for some unknown reason... I was told at that time I couldn't correct this....

As evident from his posts and pics, you have to admit that Ben is a people person who clearly took in a lot of sights, obviously met a lot of 928 peeps, and makes an impression on everyone he meets. As an aside, I can't tell you how many people came up to me and said, "did you bring Ben with you from Iowa?!?" at SITM.

Hey, Ben, not to jump the OCIC tracks, but at SITM a gentleman who came with his son who has an 86.5 said you were the only person, before us, he'd met from Iowa-- and he was impressed. He wants you to return next year and he said your wife was a "firecracker." He met you last year at SITM. D@mnit if I can't remember his name. Unlike you folks, we weren't as social at the gathering. I'd like to remedy that next year with a longer SITM visit.

Please consider doing an OCIC write up with pics for Pferdestarke.
