I would rather have the top plastic piece done in aluminum to match the fan housing.
I might Dremel off that round top section to further reveal the fans.

Dave,
I am not able to run the AC with your system on hot days... Also you mentioned a block of plate in an earlier post, I would take one but I thought you said you didn't have them anymore?

That's why I designed our system, it is overkill but we need that here in Utah during the summer.
(You should also move the fan back to the rear of the shroud opening to realize maximum cooling efficiency, it will pull air through the whole radiator then, not just the 18" in front of the fan. BTW, the 18" fan is rated at 2500cfm because it will not spin at the rpms that the smaller ones will.

Good morning pmotts...I believe your controller has died due to the fact that the adjustment is a one turn affair and yours seems to continue to rotate. Also your temp sensor may be faulty and need replaced after your slight fan intrusion. I will get a set off to you asap. I can have a block off plate ready to send you either this week or early next but it will insure you get some nice warm air in your intake.

Just an update on this. I went with a spal fan both for the AC condensor and for replacing the belt driven fan. The AC fan I got straight from Spal and the radiator fan I went with the 928 Motorsports fan kit. Pics:
My car runs quite cool now, before while running the AC I'd get up to about two/thirds, but now it stays at less than halfway on the guage. Installation of the AC fan was a snap, as was the kit I received from Carl.

WOW, do they sound like acft rotors You shouldn't have any temp problems with those bad boys! I like the low profile look

Actually they are fairly quiet. But they do move a lot of air!!
Dave yeah I figured you guys did. I tapped out my budget doing the things I did do, so I opted to just cut the bearings off the existing bracket till I could make or buy one.
I put in a John Speake MAF in place of the old one, and with all the other mods to this 928 makes it a screamer. I was hoping to put it on the dyno again, but it wasn't to be. I'm sure it is much much closer to 300rwhp now then when I last dynoed.

when I took my intake off the 86 engine I modified the bracket on the throttle body, in other words I tig welded on a ball this gives me a shorter throttle throw, I then made up a bracket which mounted onto the piece which connected the throttle body to the MAF and I am running the throttle cable directly to the throttle body, so I dont even have the bracket at the front, I find that way nicer, and I prefer a shorter gas pedal travel,
I replaced the fan in front with a Spal fan, 16" straight blade pusher, iirc I confirmed it was over 3000CFM of airflow, I also replaced the temp switch with a lower temp one, it is fine for regular driving but if I do spirited driving it gets really hot REALLY quick,
I dont have ac in the car so it is right near the rad, I will be fabbing up a shroud setup and having 2 of them up front.

Prove it. I have been trying to get one of these from you for over a month for the fan set up you sold me. I will provide this pics if you would just send this to me so I can finish the set up you sold me.

Has anyone consider buying 2x 14" fan and installing them in the s4 shroud? I have contemplating doing this so I can get more space between the shroud and the powersteering pulley (on the supercharged s4).

do a 60 to 100mph run in 3rd gear, if you are anywere near 6 seconds or 6.5 seconds, you are probably over 300rwhp.
by the way, what is that sensor inline with the uper radiator hose?
