I used Intercity, you'll find many here recommend them and have used them.
They were good about contacting the seller, scheduling a time with him and then called me regularly to keep me informed where the car was. They do tend to move the cars in and out of the truck frequently so beware if the car has a bad battery this will be a headache. They also worked with me to drop the car off at a time which worked well with my schedule. All in all a great experience. No damage either and they know the cars!

By the way, they are priced a bit higher than the rest but they're worth it. I have also used DAS and that was an unbelievable nightmare, luckily that was to ship our Honda so no big deal but still a huge headache.

1 vote for Pasport/Fedex
In Jan '04 we had a vintage corvette shipped from Montana to SoCal by Passport, which has been since been purchased by Fedex. It was $1300 for about 1300 miles, but that was in the dead of winter (it was -10F when I looked at the car) and they were great- kept us apprised of the progress, were right on time, etc. Dunno whether the merge with Fedex has affected anything, but at least they're worth a call to compare quotes with Intercity, which by all accounts is excellent.

Intercity damaged 2 of the 4 cars I have shipped with them. This is not to say they are a bad carrier or the risk is any higher using them, it happens to them all. How they handle it determines whether or not they are a good carrier. Intercity denied my incidents ever happened because the driver didn't report them (paid for the damage out of his/her pocket).
I have used Exotic Car Transport and been very happy.
Stay away from DAS as they will pick up your car or have the seller deliver it to a terminal (usually an impound lot or wrecking company yard) where it may sit for a couple weeks or more before they even pick it up. It may go to another terminal depending on where they are shipping your car.
Also stay away from VIP Transport as they strap cars down by the axle (I know, I replaced one on my 95 GTS). Best situation would be to strap the car down over the tires.
Good luck.

I just spoke with Mike at AAT. They are a transport broker and use DAS as their main carrier. He said the car could be picked in CA and delivered in AL in 4 days (no guarantee though). He did mention that they do not leave the car at "impound or wrecking yard" (this is Mike's quote, lol) as most other carrier do. I got a quote from Intercity for $2300 (enclosed) and they guarantee delivery within 23 days (no joke). AAT charges $850 and it is a straight drive to AL. Should I risk it and go with ATT or should I keep shopping around?

DAS quoted me $600.00 non enclosed in 2 weeks from Az to Tx (not a long trip i know). I "upgraded to "top load" and "hurry the f-up" and total cost, 1 week shipping was $1000.00. They showed up a day early, washed it and the car showed up in the exact condition it left in.
I don't know why DAS has such a bad rep, but I had a really good exp with them. They had great communication and tracking. I would use them again. Sure, I might have been ripped off, but I felt it worth the cost.

BK: are you still looking? BT is a broker, but I had very good luck with the team they gave me. I could find the cell for the driver(s) if you want to contact them. They were on time on a x-country trip and my only complaint was some minor mud on the carpet. Enclosed was $1600. YMMV.

I just had a 91 GT shipped to me from GA, and the bone-head put his tie-down hooks on the tie rods ends. Bent the crap out of them. The car came off the truck toed-out like a 60 year old hooker. Grrr.
I'd recommend you be there when they load your car, and watch how and where they tie it down.
