no they are both out, thus they are playing in the 3rd place game saturday, i am sure bob could rig up a TV in the garage in which case i'll be there, but while footballs on, no working for me, unless of course someone gets stuck under a car and cant get out.

as for brake fluid, someone just buy a case of Castrol GT-LMA its like $8 a liter. Then sell it to all the 928'ers that didnt bring lunch(brake fluid) for $8.02 and make yourself a quarter.

The Castyrol LMA has proven to be more than adequate for street and some mild DE duty. I think that the ATE reputation is bigger than the product, but if you really feel the need to $pend, find some Super Blue or Gold. All are rated DOT-4 for high boiling point; after that it's color, show, and bragging rights IMHO. Others will have differing opinions.
I can stop at Pep Boys this afternoon and grab some LMA for those who would rather have that level of service. By the time I get it home here, the price can easily double though. It's a chance you take.

Go ahead and list it. It's not like anybody actaully lifts the cap and tries to guess which fluid you use. Taste test is the definitive method, of course. Until somebody does that, use the 99-Cents Only store brand and nobody will be any the wiser.
Our next hi-tech invention needs to be a brake fluid dessicator, part of an aftermarket brake fluid reservoir cap. Dries the air before it's allowed to touch the surface of the fluid in the cap. On our cars there's easily enough hood clearance. Billet aluminum, of course...

Some thoughts:
-- If somebody has a garage 'turkey baster' handy, it will speed up the process a little. I toured a couple markets nearby, no luck finding one tonight.
-- The wheels will be off, so it's a prime opportunity to do a little wheel cleaning and such. Bring your favorite tire dressing and maybe a little of your favorite wheel wax.
Clean wheels and wheelwells really improve the looks of any car. My opinion, of course.

Well, except for the "too hot" component, we managed to move a few cars in and out of the garage today. One car had rusty dr4ainpipe water for brake for brake fluid. Another had a loose alternator bolt, discovered while checking the T-belt tension.
Several of the regular supporters were here, including Joe Privitelli with a set of PorKen lift bars. If you lift your car more than once a year, these bars are a great tool. No dinking with blocks of wood, just line 'em up under the lift pads, a few pumps of the floorjack, and the car is up at jackstand height in seconds. Pretty darn impressive!
New-to-the-group but longtime owner Ed Lawson broought his very nice '80 down for a visit. I ran in to Ed just before last New Years, in a Wal-Mart parking lot some 30 miles or so from home. It was raining, but he followed me and pulled up in his 'other car' next to where I was parked. We yakked a bit standing in the rain, and I shared the SoCal and Rennlist URL's so he could get up to speed with us. I was very pleasantly suprised when he joined us this morining. Welcome Ed, and thanks for the lunch!
New owner Rob Edwards brought his 'new' GT up from Orange County, a christening trip for all the work he's been doing catching up on PO-deferred maintenance. Besides getting some new fluid pushed through the brakes, we did an initial adjustment to get the ride height up within a few inches of right. Some brake-kleen to find the adjusters, some Kroil to get them freed up. and half-dozen revolutions on the adusters should be a good start!
We also had a drop-in visit from a soon-to-be owner. As others post pic's, that Miata is soon to be superseded by a 928.
Ryan P. brought his GT back for a visit. It was Ryan's clutch bleeding that instigated today's party. Larry and Rolf rounded out the kist of suspects today.
Great group, good to see familiar faces and to meet a few new and soon-to-be owners.

It was great meeting all the crew, and I hope that we can make a habit of the get-togethers! Sorry for all the rust in your brake fluid drain bucket- the EPA would declare it a Superfund site if they see it......

My thanks again to Bob for hosting what is surely a good thing for all the 928ers that showed up. I know it was quite a simple process to bleed these with Bobs bleeder, Honestly the hardest part is jacking up the car. I got there really late but it was good to meet some new faces, people I had not met before, Larry, Rob, Joe, and Ed, and of course Bob and Rolf.
I learned that I need to catch up on the spring cleaning on my car before its worthy to be shown with all these cars. I think I will find some time for a little polishing session tomorrow afternoon come to think of it.
The more tech sessions the better as far as i'm concerned. Wether or not its my car I enjoy getting to know the others in the group and learning all the how to's on these cars. I know bob and I both want to do a leatherique process, I now Rob mentioned doing an intake R&R which i think bob also mentioned he wanted to get his intake refinished at some point, although with the down time for refinishing i dont see how that would be possible. I will be replacing dampers in the next week or so, I got a little brush up based on Rob's experience adjusting his ride height, that looked LIKE FUN! Damn, rusty dirty parts! Although Bob found what seemed to be a great ride height adjustment tool.
All in all it was a good afternoon,

Once again, Dr Bob comes through as only he can to support the group and the cars. It was great meeting some old new friends and some new new friends---fantastic group of guys and cars. Thanks for the hospitaity and the knowledge.

I'm bummed I couldn't make it. Started to but my coolant light came on right about the El Toro Y. Coolant level and engine temp were fine, but I'm still new with these so I panicked and drove home. I'm in Mission Viejo and would love just to have a "broad overview" of the car discussion with someone that wasn't charging me $95 an hour. (mechanic not therapist).
