Then there is the little issue of the extra 215 rwhp it packs. Thus I refer to it as "Big Brother" and mine as "Little Brother".

It takes a big 928 dog to do 190mph....and a long, long track. Dave L and you guys in Salt Lake City, have you ever tried the Bonneville salt flats or is it too hard on the cars (the salt that is?). The highway on the way to the flats doesn't look too bad though....but it has speed busters along the way.

I would not run my car on the salt flats....the salt sticks to EVERYTHING. You will never clean it all off. Besides, the roads we use for ORR are just fine for high speeds. The straight sections can be 10+ miles long. The surfaces are very smooth too. In fact, last year a British team tried for the world speed record for an electric vehicle using our ORR highway. Their goal was 300mph (yes, 300!) but winds and electrical glitches (can you believe it?) prevented them from reaching that goal.
About the only advantage the salt flats have is the lack of rocks, ditches, fences, horses, hills, gullys, etc to crash into if the worst happens.

EVERYBODY's got a beast these days..... I think it's going to be cool at some point to have a stock slow car (not me of course)
Salt Flats should be for cars that run on salt flats then. Lord KNOW's, they have been doing it for over 50 years. Salt flats are my future.goal. I certainly wouldn't take my street car there. Same with the dry lake beds of southern California, El Mirage Dry Lake Bed where 100's of the commercials you see are filmed and the whole Hot Rod generation got started after WWII. The salt flats came into play later. The dry lake bed is fine dust. I have never run on it, but Andy Keel told me it gets pretty scarey when you are running 140+ and the car is sliding around and losing traction. Not to mention all of the fine dust that gets EVERYWHERE! I wonder if the salt flats are the same.
Well, as usual it's all spectulation and may the 928 owner with the most money win!

Keith,
The car is an 88 Diamont Blau (not silver) 5 sp. The wing is a stock S4 with an adjustable mount. We are trying to generate a bit more downforce to match the front when the spoiler is installed for the races.
As far as the 220 mph, that is the goal. Nothing more than that. At the Nevada Open Road Challenge we might have slightly broken tech a little so we know the car will run 200 mph. We will officially try next year when we are a bit more familiar with the car and have 4 or 5 more races under our belt, and have the required safety equipment. George has had some delays, but I think we will see him over 200 mph next year also.

Rockin Tim, I know George is well on his way. I hope you guys make it. I think clearing 200mph is well enough bragging rights for anyone! 220+, you are bucking for the front cover of Excellence Any chance you'll be running Louie's intakes????
What is that front spoiler from?

White knuckled my 928 recently on a long stretch of open, vacant highway. When I slowed down and had the nerve to look down at the GPS I saw this and snapped a photo.....
I cannot nor do not believe that my car can do this. Explanations anyone? I did not alter this image and am not trying to fool anyone here.
I am baffled. My car is a stock 1984 US model with a recently transplanted engine.

If you have a EuroS 5-speed, it may be possible to reach that speed. 310hp and 2.72 rear pinion with slightly larger rolling diameter at the rear tires would make 175mph just around redline.
See this post: https://rennlist.com/forums/6935371-post52.html. Gearing for a 5-speed EuroS is the same as a GT.
