This is a really good deal! The only thing missing is the piping, air filter and the belt ~$200 worth of parts. 100HP for $2000 is a smoking deal.

 

I think Tim Murphy still offeres his FAST upgrade kit.

Not sure since I'm still working on his new web site - haven't received all the details / products to add yet.

 

Am thinking seriously about this. Like buying exercise equipment, sometimes writing a check for performance parts is easier than putting them to use. My current concern is my wife's reaction since I have not even installed my 911 BAE turbo kit yet. (Finally received complete instructions on Thursday and might be able to schedule installation next weekend... maybe it would be smarter to start with instructions this time)

Sidebar: A new timing belt kit for my S4 is also coming this week, but I'm hoping someone with experience will be around to QC my work when I get into that job the first time.

How many pounds of boost are safe without adding more fuel to an S4?

Here are the items mounted to an engine, they were never ran...all parts are brand new!

-Blower, bracket and pulley.

 

6-8psi is usually the range, although I think some have gone as high as 10psi by just changing injectors.

For any increase in air-mass entering the engine, there should be a corresponding increase in fuel.

Not necessarily. I'm running 7 pounds of boost. I went from 24# injectors to 30# injectors and the car ran super rich. I put my 24# injectors back in and the car is running great.

Are you running anything which modifies the fuel pressure under boost?

 

I think what he means is, how much boost can he run before he has to modify the fuel system.

 

I'm running around 6psi, non intercooled, with stock (24lb) injectors and only an FMU to handle the fuel needs while under boost. If you keep the boost uncer 8psi, an intercooler is not needed.

 

An FMU counts as a fuel system modification.

 

Yup I agree but its a very simple fuel system modification. That's another parts that is missing, but they only cost ~$75 used.
