928 Owners Club International Convention 2006 - Denver, June 22 - 25

Hi everyone!
Glad to see some of you are already in route to Denver. Just a very short update for those who are staying at the Renaissance Denver Hotel on Saturday night. We have arranged for a 3:00pm check-out on Sunday afternoon. So, leave all your things in the hotel and not worry about having to pack before going to the Gmund West 2006 event at 7:30am. I know it's a relief for me and I'm sure for everyone else, too.
Also, just to let everyone know, we have made arrangements with the hotel to block off the 4th floor of the parking garage just for 928's. So you may want to drop off your things at the hotel lobby, get registered and then park in the shade of the garage. Also, we will have some help at the south side of the hotel with car washing duties(3-6pm), if the weather holds...we are expecting locally heavy thunderstorms in the afternoon tomorrow. No rain in weeks and it picks tomorrow to dump...figures! Weather for the rest of the convention looks like low 80's...just the way we like it around here.
See you all tomorrow,

I am still in Sunnyvale. I had to inspect a house this morning because I didn't have enough time last night. Then I put in a new GTS clock but blew some 5 amp fuses in the process....no 5 amp fuses around here Then my newly reconditioned AC system decides it wants to stop blowing cold air and the temps here are climbing to 95; I shudder to think about crossing Nevada today. So I am off to the AC shop where I just two days ago dumped mucho dinero to get cold AC, and it doesn't blow anything but charred coal.
Guess I'll make it there sooner or later. But first I must find a donut shop to stock up on fresh ones for the trip. One never knows what kind of wildlife will be encountered on the road.

Ron,
Have you ever been camping in bear country? No food in the tent, everything goes into a bear bag that gets pulled up and suspended between at least two or three trees keeps 'em busy away from your camp, allows you to rest some. It would therefore seem almost the pinnacle of foolishness to carry donuts in the car if you want to traverse bear country without a serious risk of getting mauled along the way.
Wouldn't it be better to phone ahead to donut shops, give them a few dollars on your ex-wife's credit card number, and have them feed the bears for you during the times you'll be passing by? You could take care of several issues all at once.
Oh yeah-- Have a safe drive!
