Default Intake polishing-waxing

My original intake has some odd water spots on the passenger side. They wouldn't clean off with anything.. I heard that if you try to polish or wax the intake the fragile factory coating will flake off.... The water spots were bothering me too much so I tried some non-abrasive chemical oxidation remover polish that I use on the bumpers.....WOW did it work...took the spots off really easy....I followed it up with a nice coat of wax on top of it! The only bummer is I couldn't get real low on the manifold since I didn't want to mess up the fuel rail covers.....still it looks way better!!

Its this stuff called "pretreatment" that I get from my old detailing franchise....I'll bring you some next time I come over so you can try it.....just save an old wax bottle to pour it in!!

Looks good! Hey don't worry about the fuel rail covers, just pull them off while polishing. You can get at more of the cam cover while you're at it.

Of course I thought of this AFTER I was done & looking at the pictures!! Next time I clean the engine I'll do it the right way!
