Default Pictures of 1986.5 928S FS

If I did it right this is a picture of the 86.5 928S I have for sale. More will follow after I find out if this worked!

Enjoy,
Constantine

I am posting below my intial post about this car with some minor additions. Excuse the duplication.

Greetings,

I am offering my track car for sale. This is the same car featured in the Feb. 2005 Excellence issue and the one driven to SITM a few years back. Also was at the Sebring 48 Hour event two years ago.

Some particulars:

Gaurds Red 1986.5 928S, automatic, 124,XXX miles, completely stripped interior to include all sound deadening material. Interior primed, painted Guards red and polished. Full Nascar style cage. Two Sparco 2000 race seats with Team Tech 5 point harnesses. Road/rain wheels are Cup 2 style. Rear tires will be replaced at our expense before selling.

JRZ double adjustable shocks at four corners with Eibach springs. Devek front sway bar and Louis Ott droplinks at rear. MSDS headers into custom stainless steel 3' Y pipe into custom stainless 3.5" exhaust exiting through a 3.5" stainless Magnaflow muffler. Many compliments on it's sound.

Exterior is still shiny and looks presentable at 5 feet. Usual nicks and blemishes as found on track cars. Carbon fiber/kevlar roof panel, carbon fiber side mirrors, GTR (?) style fiberglass rear wing with S spoilers still on car. Weight approx. 2950 lbs. with 1/4 tank gas.

New front windshield and all glass intact to include still functioning power windows. Custom hitch with small trailer to carry 17" Fikse five spoke race wheels. Both trailer and race wheels included.

Automatic trans rebuilt about 100 miles ago to include Edge torque converter, new kickdown solenoid, new vaccum modulator, shift kit and 1989 rear diff. for better track gearing. Much improved over stock. Also replaced torque tube with 928 Intl. rebuilt one at same time. Our TBF fix prototype is installed on the front flexplates.

Engine connecting rod bearings replaced at 120,XXX with OE Porcshe bearings and still have old ones that looked very good with no obviuos problems noted, new oil pan gasket, GTS oil pan baffle, new motor mounts, Griffiths rebuilt steering rack and high output steering pump, Accusump 3 quart system with Canton billet oil filter, DEVEK aluminum radiator, new brake master cylinder and more.

Engine pulls very strong and the car handles like a dream on the track. It will never embarass you. This car is a perfect candidate for a S/C system or conversion to 5 speed or both. I would leave it AT since I have never had any problems keeping up on the track. This car really surprises many with a lot more $$$$ sunk into their P-cars.

There is more but I will save the details for those interested. No pictures posted since I can never get my pictures to load to the Forums. I can of course email some to those interested. We will be attending SITM and can deliver this car with trailer and race wheels to the lucky buyer.

Price is set at $17,500.00. If you ever wanted a 928 track car this would be a lot of fun and is a turnkey setup. I drive it to DE events and is street "legal" as long as you don't have to smog it. Unless you've built up a track car, and I even got this partially on its way, its hard to imagine just how much time is invested in doing one up.

Thanks for looking,
Constantine

It worked, but are you selling the car or a picture of the car? Your thread title is a bit unclear.

I will give you one bridge in Brooklyn (Michigan) and several acres of oceanfront property in Arizona for that picture.

Nice racecar - hope it finds a good home here!

A shot of the rear end showing the roll cage through the hatch glass.

V-Tach, the car weighed in at 2950 Lbs with a 1/4 tank of gas. This was before I changed the side view mirrors to smaller carbon fiber ones that dropped about 7 lbs 14 ozs from the total weight.

Sorry, not at this time. I want to keep running the car at DE events until it sells and need the wheels.

Hi Fabio,

The wing supposedly came from A.I.R. in California. From my understanding it was a wing Porsche had actually styled as a wing concept for the 928 but did not go with it for production. A.I.R. supposedly bought the rights from Porsche and built it themselves. At least this is the story I've heard about it. It sort of resembles the newer GT2 style wing and it really compliments the car. No weird effects at speed with it, ie. front lifting and getting too light hitting about 130- 140 mph on the back straight of Sebring leading into turn 17. Car is absolutely stable!

You doing DE days with Goldcoast region?

Hi Drifter,

After getting some coffee in me I thought about your question further and realized you probably meant where is the car located. The car is in Vero Beach, Florida. If this is what you meant please disregard the rest of my reply!

Initial reply:
As seen in the pictures. Nothing is wrong with it and it's just sitting in my garage being driven every few days to keep all the fluids pumping through the systems. I am fighting the urge to put a SC system in it. I can't imagine what that would be like on the track. Amazing how dropping 500+ lbs makes this car come alive! That and how much stiffer it is with the full cage. When I finally became a solo driver I could tell a big difference losing the 180+ lbs. from not having another person in it.

Cheers,
Constantine
