Default Cool hood liner *pic*

I was in the middle of replacing a gasket this evening under the airbox, and I figured I'd snap a picture of the excellent hood liner I picked up from Rob Budd.

The logo had to be red, of course, to match the intake.

There is one for the front area if you want it. I didn't since my front area has the factory vacuum diagram.

Here's a link to his eBay auction...no affiliation LINK

Did mine yesterday. It looks awesome! But the key to any new headliner is to prep prep prep. You need to get as much of the old adhesive off as possible.

First I peeled the old hoodliner off. Then I used some 3M adhesive remover (spray) and soaked the hood residue on the hood. Then I used a 4" PLASTIC putty knife and gently scraped off all the old glue.

For the new glue I used some counter-top contact cement. Worked like a charm! Sorry no pics yet.

To all who are interested, buy one now before Porsche shuts them down for using the Porsche crest.

Hacker:

The liner is a separate product from the crest. Bob's just buying the crest and adding it to his product. The crest (which is a big sticker) may already be licensed.

Big Dave or Andrew,

Did you guys take your hood(s) off or leave it on for installing the liner?

Regards,

David

To all who are interested in viewing HP's signature picture, do it now before the hobo asks for his rail back!

I tried to do it in situ on my '82 and ended up with a big friggen mess. Definately pull the hood. 4 botls and 2 shocks and amazingly light. Not a big deal.

Removal appears to be the consensus. Guess I just need to do it.

Big Dave, looks great BTW!

Andrew, you gonna post a pic?

Thanks.
