I have been somewhat bothered by the fact that retarding the timing under boost is not really possible on the 928. On the 32V even retarding the base timing is not really possible.
I have 2 MSD 6BTMs (has a boost retard module built into them) on the shelf that could work for the 32V engines, however I read that Mark fried 2 of these units when he tried to connect them to his turboed early 32V. the instructions came directly from MSD, and yet the units still failed. It would be great if we could find a way to correctly hook up these units. The MSD6BTM is very popular in the aftermarket turbo/SC crowd and they work well if they are connected correctly.

Todd's car is retarding the timing under boost without the use of any currently known electronic devices
Contact Louie Ott. The SMT6 retards base timing maps or with the onset of boost. I'll be specing these as part of my stage 3 turbo kit. Tried & tested on '85-91 cars at least (never asked about the GTS< but sure it will as well.
There will soon be a way of remapping the 87>>> cars igntion. The EZK version of the SharkTuner is coming on fine. You can indepedantly remap crusie and WOT advance.

I didn't know Centrifiguals made that much torque down low? 360 @ 1800 rpm is pretty damm good... Way better than the charts posted of Murfs website?
Woody
I'm not sure of the boost Murphy used....My guess is more than the 11psi listed here
2nd to the last chart shows about 360rw ft-lbs torque at 1,800 with Murf's latest Stage 2 kit on a dynojet. I cannot explain the difference between the cars that produced the charts on murf's web site vs the most recent one.

Its still not bad bottom end....say stock at 2K and far better from there...still not bad....Personally I have not ridden in a Vortech 928...only Bill B's....& I really love the powerband in his 928.....I'm sure the strokers have a great powerband too!!

Although very impressive... it shows 340 at 1800 and 360 at 1900.
What was changed between the second to last and last runs? It dropped 30ftlbs across the chart. Was it just heat build up?
Matt,
Wrong chart - they are all the same run. First chart is SAE vs DynoJet numbers. I've been quoting the dynojet numbers since that is what the "before" dyno was without the intercooler.
