Sounds like Tim has some nice parts in it. I'm dialing mine in at 8.5:1...probably doing rods as well but undecicided yet.

The engine is a static 9.0:1 compression ratio which sounds forced-induction friendly to me.

If I were in the market for an engine, I would buy this one, spend an extra $1000 and Nikasil it, and be done with it. The end result would be a totally kick-*** short-block for $8500, ripe for forced induction.

Sounds VERY boost friendly

But I meant for Mark's racing... is he allowed to do that?

In PCA Mark can do whatever he wants to the car - might put him in a class he doesn't want to run in though.

Todd who did the work said he used the Sunnen with the recommended paste.

Strange, I've seen trouble with the chem process, but the sunnen procedure is usually reliable. Have seen the iron plating come off pistons, though... Wonder what the Swaintech coating is... might be worth a try if its less expensive than nika$il..

I'd say run it. I would have bought it if I hadn't already spent 5k on mine.

I'd say buy it and swap the pistons for 11:1 or so compression.
