SF Bay Area Shark Owners - How about a little fun drive this weekend?
After lots of delays due to bad or unstable weather, Bill Swift will finally be coming up from Insane Diego this weekend.
We were thinking of driving up to Napa on Saturday, and to Monterey on Sunday. One of the two could be a multi-shark "group event"...
If you are interested in getting together, please select which one (or both) you would be available for, so I can get an idea which one to plan for the group...
Again, if you are available for both, please select both - the poll is set-up to allow multiple selections.

Great idea, Nicole! I could go either way, but Sunday to Monterey is good, as long as we avoid the parking lot on Hway1 as much as possible. We did that ride on DEVEK Days 2 years ago, and 1 was very congested through Carmel.

Great to hear you are available, Bill! I heard that Gerry and Sara might be able to rearrange their schedules and join us also. Let's see who else is available.
Since Bill would have to continue to San Diego, I think the long route though Fort Hunter Liggett might be too much for Sunday. If you know of any alternative route that bypasses Hwy 1 as much as possible, let me know!
Hopefully by then my shark will be fully operational again. I fixed the tear in the seat with the Leatherique stuff (amazing!), should get my wheels back from powdercoating, and will also get a new battery (car did not start today, due to lack of juice)...

I'm always up for a ride to Carmel. But I must work too so I should be back by afternoon. Let's go early in the morning. I won't be able to afford food after paying for gas, though. Got some interesting things to show you in Carmel which you may like. (Ignore the above if I must go to Sacto AGAIN on Sunday. It's the one in Elk Grove this time).

Sunday is best for me!! Been thinking about a drive on sunday anyway!!
Nicole
Did the leatherique kit come with a "texture" pad or something like that....you press it into the mostly dried crack filler to give it the leather texture?
I just treated my seats yesterday....still looking good...now i have to be extra careful when I get in-out of the car!!

The first nice weekend and I'll still be wrenching. Actually, I'm just waiting on a tabbed washer for the new cam cover adapter elbow nut-lock thing. I added an elbow to my LH cam cover as well as a new filler neck and hoses as is done on the GTS to address the oil ingestion issue. We'll see if it works.
With all the work I've done to the beast, I'll need a couple shake-down runs close to home before venturing out.
Have a nice trip. The Santa Lucia Highlands is a good side trip for wine tasting. That area produces one of the best Pinot Noirs I've had.
Cheers,
