MAF swap is very easy......just pull the airbox & bottom piece (two bolts plus possibly a third holding the airpumpline on (most have been removed)....then take a long screwdriver to release the clamp on the bottom of the MAF...it comes right out! 20 minutes tops! I tried it on mine to track down an odd starting problem.... MAF was fine..still looking for other causes

its not a flappy problem either. the curves just miss a hump, but from 3700rpm to redline, would be unaffected.
It looks like you are shifting gears (but i know you are not) on the dyno graph, could it have been a transmission issue , since its an automatic?

The dyno guy was having to gently apply throttle as to no let the tranny shift down when the throttle got to 3/4 it crapped on itself and went hell and a hand basket

To properly run an Auto on the dyno...you need to disconnect the Bowden cable off the intake throttle linkage....upper outside cable on the assembly..and reach under the gas pedal and pull the kickdown switch connector. That way you can manually put the car into 3....and make your run from 2200 or so rpm..without worrying about the kickdown.....

This shop is a race shop. They design, build, and test race cars. I would be willing to bet that these were the first automatics they ever tested. If something had to be done differently for an automatic tranny, they might not have known that. No need to wonder about this shop, they are very good at what they do. They just don't do automatic trannys.

Fair enough. I was just adding things up after seeing all the strangely low numbers. One low set, bad car, but several low, makes you wonder.

I disconnected the Kickdown switch on mine.
Did not know or could not remember which cable to disconnect.
Off to the original dyno on Thursday to check my car out and hopefully get a smile back on my face.

Does it have the "Do It Yourself" manual transmission, or the superior "Fully Equipped by Porsche" Automatic Transmission?

Rog100, it must be that having so many 928s confuses you. Which one should I drive? Jeeze, I thought I had a green one too! Wait, do I have 7 or 8 of them? Problems, problems...
Anyway, the Bowden cable that you want to pop off is the upper outside one on the throttle quadrant. So, just remember: upper, outer.
