Is there a delco alternator that will fit the later cars. I have looked at the archives and found where the delcoworks on the early cars but will one work on an 87 s4?

The Bosch regulator is weak at idle. You might find as I did, that replacing the regulator with one of the aftermarket ones makes a big difference in charging at idle.
I installed new bearings, regulator, and brushes on my stock Bosch alternator for about $30.
Here's a link to the parts dealer I found on eBay selling the Bosch replacement parts kit.

Is the factory alt a Bosche or Paris Rhone? The reason I ask is that a friend of mine owns a local speed shop and Got me a rebuilt Paris Rhone for $131 and the Bosche unit was only slightly higher.
