Default Boy did i feal like a jackass at lunch.

My car decided to start tooting it's horn whenever it felt like it during lunch today. I was about 5 miles from the office and it just started going crazy. It would honk, stop, start, etc. sometimes short toots, sometimes for 20 seconds or so at a time. on and off everywhere. finally got back and pulled the fuse. People probably thought i was being an ***. Honked at a bicycler and some pedestrians. kind of funny, but pretty embarrassing.

So is this the relay? or horn contact? Thanks.

Usually the horn contact the L shaped strip on the turn signal switch gets worn and bends so it grounds out on the column as you turn the wheel.

Take the horn pad off and see if the wires are loose. Mine did that before. Pretty sweet, sitting at a light with the horn blowing.

As I was reading the initial post I was laughing my *** off thinking "Why didn't you just pull the horn pad off??"

Too funny, my Audi did this few years ago. Just smile and wave.

My 944 honks when one of the rear tires hits a bump. I haven't driven the car since 2001 so I cannot remember which on.

I have just the opposite! I honk the horn and it blows a fuse if I hold it for more than a second!

Keith that is the little known anti rudeness feature ! also when the horn contact strip gets bent pulling the horn pad off does not stop the horn.

Well Jim, I'll still rip the pad off in a vain atttempt to silence Sharky even if it won't work. You guys will be there to sell me those little replacement plastic clips, right?

My radiator had spung a leak and before I had a chance to fix it I was sitting at a stop light when this beautiful babe in a M3 pulled up next to me. To my pleasant surprise I noticed she was looking at my GT. I turned to look forward as the light turned and I saw what she was looking at. I was putting out a cloud of steam from the front of the engine, how embarrassing...
