Default Leak from PS Return hose. (S4)

Anybody R&R an S4 PS Return Hose?

Seems to be in a tight spot. As she sat this winter and it looks like this hose has begun leaking at the first rubber to metal crimp under the reservior. Big job? I haven't really looked at it yet. Any suggestions?

I know what my father would do. Either leave it, or cut a bigger tube and go over the tube and joint and hose clamp the ends.

Dad's advice would be good - I did the cut and double hose clamp trick on my F150 last fall: works like a champ( the guy sold the truck thinking the whole PS system was screwed $$$ - a $3, 20 min fix!!)
The same hose leaked on my '80 - the metal fitting on that car is actually a swivel .. no money scrimped by Porsche. I pulled the line from the reservoir , gave it a part turn, and reclamped. The swivel coupling hasn't leaked in three years ....

Alright. I think that's the one, looking at Tony's pics.

Comes from under the res. a rubber hose goes down to the fender wall where it has a metal connection (this is where the leak is). Then the metal line heads towards the front bumper, I'm assuming turns back around and heads back the other way turning back into a rubber hose then another metal one along the fender wall and back down. Looks like Tony dosen't show the part that heads towards the front bumper. I'm just guessing I take the clamp plate off there? and then follow his directions?

Hey yo, Tony, you out there my man?

It's very common for the hose connections on the bottom of the reservoir to leak. Fluid then runs down the hoses and can appear to be leaking from any of half a dozen places. Try to tighten the hose clamps. In my case the clamps were already fully closed but I replaced the factory ones with ordinary garden-variety 'Jubilee' clips (stainless) and was able to tighten them a little more. Leaks fixed.

Yeah, I replaced the other line last year. THe bottom of the res. and the upper sections of the hoses are all dry.

So the return hose is made up of two hoses. One that goes down to the rack and a second, I assume for cooling, goes to the front bumper then across the car in front of the radiator, then back and up to the res. Of course this one is where my possible leak is. The hose where the connection looks bad has a one time crimp clamp. So after removing the fan shroud and trying to get the radiator out, of course with all my might I couldn't disconnect the upper oil cooling line so I said screw it . I'm going with the hose over a hose trick. So off to home depot I go to get some hose clamps. its only seepage not a full on leak so I'm thinking this will solve the problem for now.

thanks for the help guys.
