![Question](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Interested if anyone has installed a single DIN Blaupunkt navigation system like the RNS149 - or similar
If yes - do you like it and what features does it have - especially:
Digi-cever radio?
Aux Input (for iPod) and CD Changer control concurrently active?
Telephone Mute?
Variable Illumination?
2Ch Pre-Amp Outputs?
Any other comments?
Thanks,
Alan

Well - I did install this unit and just tested it on the drive to Denver & back. Wonderful machine once you get use to the somewhat quirky interface..
No real map but it gives a representation of the immediate road in a symbolic way - next turns and travel driection arrows, compass, current road name, remaining distance to next direction change, total remaining mileage and estimated time of arrival - you can also have it show a list of the next intersections by road name/ID & segment distances.
Worked great on the way in and back and on our drive to Estes Park.
I only wish the face surround was all black rather than silvered. Still I do think it looks OK in the dash with the ****/display configuration rather similar to the layout of the clock & rear AC controls.
Here it is demonstrating that it knows I'm 'off-road' when I'm in my garage! When you come across a new bit of road it says "please proceed to the nearest road" in a 'firm' female voice... (oh wait - I already have one of those...

The guy I got this unit from just contacted me and says he has another one available. I don't know his price or if its still available - but if anyone is interested I can find out. I can give you sources for the disks required too (it may well come with a bunch of CD's - mine did). This is a few years old and so are the disks in all likelihood - but it is a good navigation unit that works well in a 928 and has a great digi radio and CD changer controller and integrated single disk player (when not using navigation).
It does have a phone mute and an aux input - it drives 2 channels direct (25W I believe - but I'm not using it) and has preamp outputs for the rear channels.
I am quite happy with mine and use it a lot. The biggest downside to me is the silver colored face plate which doesn't go as well as black would. Otherwise it looks good - amber display and appropriate and easy to use controls.
Let me know by PM if you want more details.

Alan,
Did you ever consider taking the face apart and painting the silver area black? Looks like you could do it and only be painting over two logos in the center on the bottom. Probably wouldn't look much different, just black and correct.
Whats with your central indicator display, is that one from an earlier car? What do you use the red and green buttons/lights for?
I bought a Viper 211 HV keyless entry system and will be needing help on installing that in a couple weeks .... consider yourself warned!

Ryan - I have considered similar - I actually have some thin matt finish vinyl film that I will attempt to uses as a cover - just waiting for the next time I take the unit out to have a go at it (its been 8 months now though... to many other things). I also want to recess the unit in a little more.
The central panel is out of an older car (I stil have my original panel) - but its also heavily customized - its for my garage door opener.

OK - I heard back from the seller - $200 including some disks, required connectors and antenna. Pretty much what I got... I later picked up a full set of disks for the US...on ebay
I bought it on ebay - I think he'll sell it there (BIN) or privately. I don't know the guy but what I got was exactly what he said and he shipped it quickly...
This is not a bad deal I paid more than $300 a few years ago... PM me if you are interested in more details - you just deal direct with him...

Bump - last chance any interest on this...
He actually said $200 or best offer but not sure how low he'd go...
Let me know (PM) by end day Friday if interested (I'll send you contact info) - otherwise I'll just tell him no - it may show up on ebay after that...
You could get a good deal there if there isn't much interest...
