Welcome back....sorry about the marine blue/champagne/folding wing 87 in ripon....I helped another lister and test drove it yesterday....its a very nice low mileage car! It looks like he is going to buy it!
However...you found a very nice 91 GT, which is also quite rare. Congratualtions and welcome back to the shark asylum!

There was Leonard Laub(?) who had black S4 5sp and was active in mailing lists years ago. Probably you are not same person? I think he was in New York or somewhere close to it. He had a lot of knowledge about 928 compared to what was generally known about these cars back then. Wonder what happened to him. Anyway, as always someone on here knows something about any and every 928 anywhere, unlike these car dealers.

You found a keeper! ....so keep it My '80 is approaching 'keeper' status, as I've had it since it was a young'un - still as exciting to fire up as it was on day one.

Len,
It was meant to be because I was really serious about your car a month ago but somehow the salesperson seems a little flakey to me so the deal didn't happened. I'm glad you got the car and believe me, whatever price you paid, it won't come close to what I paid for my '91GT. You got a good deal.

[COLOR=PurpleYes, he is going to buy it, as he was first on it anyway.
He and I have talked (Typed) and He is as Happy as I am, you guessed correctly, because I found a nice GT.
They kept describing it as an S4, when I saw those dual tips and the Vin# I let them keep saying S4.
Thanks for the welcome back.[/COLOR]
Len,
Welcome back! Nice find and you'll never regret getting a GT. Reds my favorite, I'm on my third of that color.
I and my wife had said, "No Red" the 928 wouldn't look right in red. When I saw it I was like Oh yeah.
When I got it home, She simply said "We stand corrected".
I said definitely!!!!!
I love the red.

No, I am not that Leonard, And if Mr. Laub has passed, I am sad, because he was a true gentleman and extremely authoritative on the 928 and many other disciplines, we shared the boards at the same time, Which is why you see Len928 instead of Leonard, because I learned so much from him and others then and still now.
I believe Leonard was from The DC Area? Virginia? You are right, I know he lived back east.
His car was Black and Mahogany (Darker tan/brown) it was absolutely the nicest color combo I had ever seen, (IMO),
I think he had a few tricks in there, I have what he told me archived somewhere I will have to dig it out.
If he is not with us in a physical sense, he is grinning and watching from elsewhere.

I totally understand. Unless you really new the people that were in the P-car game around here, they couldn't have sold that car to anyone, They are the a pretty bad example of a dealership. Try the Missouri BBB with their name in the search.
I knew the car and the previous owner, as well as the service history, I even had what they paid as wholesalers.
I would have never bought anything else from them, but they had this car and I had to move on it.
I was surprised that it was still there.
Thanks All
I feel welcome

Len,
CONGRATS!! Wow, love the red GT, awesome find and it definitely looks to be in great condition. Like you I had a couple cars as back ups if the first one didn't work out, I was just about to call a guy on a Diamond Blue/Linen 5spd.
Oh and I hope you have no hard feelings, I definitely don't (IE price) no worries on my end.
I guess we will both be doing the same thing this summer getting acquainted with our new toys!
Nice collection by the way.

Thanks Guys..
Aircooled, no hard feelings whatsoever.
If you are cool so am I.
Yeah, I have an official welcome, My dash board did the Red light giggle right after I had the car gone over by the mechanic.. I and my wife just smiled, loosely. She looked at me and said welcome back to the 928's chaos.
I will clean all of the posts, put a fresh battery in, check all of the fuzes, look for shorts.
I have noticed that one of the dome lights is hanging, that may have caused the short.
I am still more than happy. My Mechanic just smiled as he saw me pulling up, Why? because my last one put his kid through college over the 4 years that I owned it/he fixed it.
I am now looking for wheels. Ala GTS style.
Anyone have a nice set going for cheap?
Thanks Again, to everyone that has expressed welcome in text or in thought.

They had no clue of the S4/GT thing.
They wouldn't even, change the bad battery in the car.
Wanted me to pay a referal fee to their porter of $125. I just laughed and told the guy to leave the car running, I juts needed to get it to the Garage, at home I already had a fresh battery waiting for whatever.
Thanks

To all on this board, Len unfortunately is no longer with us. He was involved in a motorcycle wreck on October 29, 2006. He was a great man and a friend to all who ever had the pleasure of meeting him. He will be missed.
