Need front shocks
My front right shock is bad and my car bottoms out on left had turns with bumps. The tire hits the fender, so I need new shocks asap. Are bilteins my best bet and where is the best place to buy them, cheapest. Thanks
It all depends on what you want to do and to spend. Blisteins are stiffer and more money than Boges. Check around as these are carried by a lot of vendors. The list of Rennlist sponsors is a good start.
This is a good opportunity to add height adjustment to the front end of your car. Check with 928Intl for parts.

My old wheels and tires didnt hit the fenders. They were the stock 15 inch phone dials with 215/60/15's. I now have 951 16 inch phone dials from a late model 944 turbo with 225/50/16's in the front and 245/45/16's in the rear. only the right side hits and the shock seems to be totally dead.
You may have droopy springs. You may need to replace the springs when you do the shocks. You would be well off getting the aftermarket performancs spring sets and stiffen the car up a whole lot. You could still use the stock boge shocks and it will feel great.
I'm pretty sure some of the 944 dials have the wrong offset for a 928 -- like 23mm or so? That would explain the rubbing. If that's the case no spring or shock will fix it, unless you go so extreme that the suspension doesn't move. The shocks really have nothing to do with whether the wheel and fender interfere at some point in the range of travel.
The dead shock sounds like another issue. Come to think of it, check your ball joints. A loose one can make the shock feel dead, and allow the wheel to move outside it's normal range -- though I think you would hear it clunking if it were that bad..

The thing is that My wheels sit the same on both sides of the car but the passenger side is the only side that rubs, and that is the shock that is leaking. There is no clunking of any kind, but the front right shock is shot. Plus there is about a 1 1/2 to 2 inch gap between the fender and the wheel so it seems like if the shock was good it wouldnt travel this much. I'm going to start by replacing the front shocks then go from there.

The wheel should move up into the wheelwell quite a ways; I think the suspension has several inches of travel. With the correct offset there should be no interference, even if you remove the spring entirely. The first pic below shows how the tire should tuck up into the wheelwell. From the sound of it, you're having the same kind of problem the guy in the second pic may be having -- for the same reason. Looking at the car from the rear, sighting along the fender opening -- does the tire protrude at all past the fender?
