Jim?

I belive he bought a copy of the mannuals, and then scaned them as a .pdf himself. He's done it at least a couple times. At least once the text reconizeing fuction didn't work. In a later version, he used a better scanner or software, and the search fuction works.

Is there any chance you could put the whole lot up in one big zip file, or something? Not that I'll care in about 30 minutes.

Also, does your website have a bandwith limiter per download?

Rick Cannell, not Jim or me. I just noticed them being up. Other Porsche manuals etc. have been there longer already.

Jim's CDs in ISO form were on BitTorrent a few months ago, but there weren't any seeders with 100%.

No if everyone who already has them is constantly downloading them and thus blocking access to everybody who hasn't bought them from Jim.

Seriously, I don't think Jim worries too much about them being up but he can speak for himself.

I'm going to refrain from commenting beyond saying that these are the files I did. There's no sense in my 'venting' any frustration here since the folks on this list have always been very supportive.

PM replied to.

Manuals on my site are freely sourced from elsewhere on the web.

No download limits. over 530 GBytes last month alone.

I mainly cover 944 events in the UK, but look out for some UK 928 dyno shootout graphs later in the year !

Some 928 bits from the events pages ... HERE HERE HERE

Rick.

Jim, I started out with an old ebay set of your work but turned right around and bought the whole enchilada from you. I appreciate the hard work you put into it and you should be rewarded -- my appreciation for your effort has only been increased by my experience last night of scanning a tiny 83-page owner manual.

I'm very glad I bought from Jim and loaned him materials (only an owner's manual, but it gave me a warm feeling to contribute). I'd hate myself if I'd ended up ripping off him _and_ myself with something like:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSC...QQcmdZViewItem

I love the pitch:

"PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CD IS COPYRIGHT BY PORSCHE OF AMERICA .
RETAIL VALUE IS $ 350.00, THANK YOU.
NOTE: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
THESE CD-PDF MANUALS ARE LEGAL PURCHASED FROM A PORSCHE DEALERSHIP IN THE UK WHO ARE COMPATIBLE WITH ALL PC, MAC AND NOTEBOOK SYSTEMS. THESE ARE MANUALS FROM PORSCHE FOR PORSCHE DRIVERS IN THE USA AND EUROPE AND USED BY PORSCHE MECHANICS. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE ! "

Hmmmm ... Copyright by Porsche of America (not PCNA?) but purchased from a UK dealer by a zero feedback guy from Bad Neuheim named "brumosporsche911." (yeah, right).

Why do I doubt this is a Porsche CD? Why doesn't he just offer the Posrche part # for $50? Free shipping except it costs $12.50.

Jim's CDs contain A LOT more technical information than just the workshop manuals. They would be worth the price even if the manuals weren't included.
