Heard about a new version of the 928 with the Cayenne twin turbo V8 in 2010. What do you guys think? I had an 87 S4 previous to my current Porsche and really enjoyed it.
Porsche may well build a front engine V-8 "car" that and 4 wheels is about the only things it will have in common with a 928. It will never be called a 928 that name was retired in 1995 and right or wrong carries a lot of emotional baggage.

Porsche enthusiasts said Porsche would never build a truck either. Never say never. If Porsche builds a front engine V8 coupe what do you think folks will naturally assume its roots come from. Now it may/probably not be called 928 but new iterations of most Porsches rarely have the same three digit designation. Just my opinion.....
It's a logical step. I still don't believe they can sell 20,000 Panameras per year at the prices they're talking about, so they'll have the extra capacity. Building a shortened version with 2 doors makes some sense.
The question you have to ask is how is 2010 different than 1995? They couldn't sell 928s back then. What makes them think they will sell in 2010?
But I hope they do it. Then maybe in 2020 I'll be able to buy a 2010 928 - or whatever they decide to call it.
