I'm still partial to "arrest-me" red! But I must agree that the Iris Blue looks stunning.

My 2 cents worth.

Why thank you. Iris appreciates the compliment

There was an Iris Blue GT 5-speed for sale about a year ago out in CA. I wish I had looked into that one a little more. Anyone here buy that one?
There are exactly two factory Iris Blue (the late dark color, not the earlier lighter color) 5-speeds - according to Chuck's Registry. Both have salvage titles - according to Jim Bailey. However, one salvage title was due to body damage - and that is not CarChick's 5-speed. Thus, one is left with the assumption that the one for sale last year in CA was the one with a salvage title due to body damage. Samantha has the only other Iris Blue - a '94 Auto.

Yep! I don't even own a 928 (yet!)......butt, my vote would go for the "copperhead" color. At least I think thats the one I've got in mind.

I saw a 928 (about a 1991 model), a little more than a year ago on a run up to Hells Gate in Canada. I LOVED THAT COLOR. I wished I could produce a pic of it right now, but all I can tell ya is that it got my juices REALLY flowiing for that car! I like the metallic, and the unordinary colors......myself. The darker blue is great too, butt.......metallic copper.....is my line of thinking!

I'd sure love to see a picture of a 928 with this color on it again! I didn't save the one I had, when changing computers here a while back.

I just had mine painted to match the Chrysler electric blue/pearl found on the PT Turbo, and everyone stops to look at it!

Yeah, Midnight Blue is pretty bitchin, but...
How about these bad boys... The Maclaren color is just plain cool, not really a 928 color in my opinion, but I'd paint a motorcycle it (devious look)
I'd say either whatever this purple is, or the Minerva Blue... Drool...

Of course I'm partial to black....clean, polished black. But when my car is even slightly dirty, I'm partial to a silver car.
Also, unless your bodywork & paintwork is flawless, stay away from deep colors....silver is more forgiving.
Yes that is how i would describe atlas grey. Halfway between light pure silver and black.

uhmmmm..... Am I the only one who either doesnt know or wants to know what color his interior is first?... doesnt that effect your decision as to what color you paint it? I know he's asking what we all think is the best color to paint a Shark, but he's wondering specifically for painting his 928.

I love Speed Yellow(... shhhhh.... oh great Shark Guru... Chrome Yellow is a Ford Mustang color!) I love do that color from the late 90s Stangs too! Thats like when Brad was telling me last year at SITM that his great lookin 79 shark was Corvette Yellow! I told him, even if it is.... tell people its Speed Yellow!! His is a very sharp lookin Shark, especially with the paint to match 17" 5 spoke C-2 Turbo wheels. The new Carrerra GT has the Fayance Yellow... thats pretty cool too! The dark bright yellows where the interior is black n yellow to match only add to the wow look too!

For a more subtle color I love the Linen Grey like Pats. It was pretty much only seen in 89-90. My 1990 911 C-2 cab was that color & it was a head turner, especially with the Linen interior! Next to silver it looks gold, next to gold it looks silver. Classy color. I've thought at some point if I repaint my White Gold Shark, that I'd maybe go with Linen instead. After looking thru Chucks 928 Registry, a few of the cars shown from 89-90 that list the color as gold or pewter, I think may actually be Linen instead.

Bet something like the Candy Apple Red would look sharp too! If it'll go with your interior, then paint it something that screams at people... LOOK AT ME!!!

Here's some Chrome Yellow Saleen Mustangs... looks pretty much like Porsche's Speed Yellow indeed. The CGT Fayance yellow is a bit lighter or less orange in it perhaps... still looks sharp.
For another more subtle color I think looks sharp on a Shark I believe is called Meteor Grey Metallic, what I call the more recent Boxster color of Seal Grey. This is the 83 the salesman at Brumos I know sold to Tammons last year. It has the Linen interior & is a very nice looking car. Wish I could of come up with the $$ & the space for it!

The interior was also black but I just changed it to light gray to cut down on the heat in the summer. The old leather had dried & cracked.

Dave as always that Iris blue is gorgeous on the GTS. Still my number one favorite color for these cars.

I love Cobalt but I find it looks best on the turbo and not as good on even a stock narrow body 911. The color looks best on very curvy panels and I don't think shows as well on the long straight panels of the 928. I think I prefer the Amazon green over the Cobalt on the 928. Very difficult color to describe because it looks very different depending on the light, more blue than green.

Colors show different depending on interior color, so unless you are tinting your windows black you may want to think about what goes best with your interior. That is unless it is a black interior. Black goes with everything.
