First thing first. Tarek - HOLY CRAP!!! I remember your thread on motion ratios and you mentioned modded offsets but that is unbelieveable! Stock is 0.5 and 0.82(?), so what is it now? I love the black anodized CCW wheels and the 345 MPSC's!

Re: pinned Weissach. Yes my car has it. It's hard to say whether it's a good thing or not. My car is looser than a five dollar . . . well, it's loose and let's leave it at that. Where I notice the pinned Weissach most is if I'm off throttle after turn-in. This makes the car rotate right NOW. You kind of have to drive it a little like a 911 - back to throttle before the apex and get the weight on the rears. Would I recommend it for a street car? Hell no. But in Tarek's case with those big meats out there in the next lane, it must be way out of spec of the designed loads and pinning may be the best solution.

I remember my old, stock 928GT with the unpinned Weissach and PSD. You could get away with murder on entry to corners. Trailbrake, fast turn-in and still the rear end was planted.

one of the beautiful things about the 928 is its ability to be driven in to a corner harder than most, due to its balance and weisach rear end. you remove that advantage and you have seen, you have a handfull!

What Dennis is pointing out , is one of the things i know the car can do without effort. go deep, trail brake, rotate controlably , and get on the gas without too much driver input.

hey, if you like drifting around corners. Knock yourself out, PIN IT!

Hey, D, have you thought about un -pinning it and putting the stock bushings back in?? may be worth, at least, an experiment.

I don't drift with it pinned on the track car.
Just remember, pinning it doesn't eliminate the effect, just reduces it.

Again, don't pin street cars.

Mine is also pinned. I felt the car was more predictible during heavy braking and cornering as well with the pins (bolts) in place.

As i said, there are a lot of factors. after seeing your spring rates, im sure unpinned wouldnt work as well , and i really dont believe that with my spring rates and swaybar setttings, that pinning would be a help. For us racers, many of these subtle differences can be driven around as well, putting the human factor variable at the top of the "cause-effect " list

Ive driven Andersons and Fans car and they drive fantastic. (nice to have 150more hp!!) handing was more go cart feeling and I have no idea if they were pinned or un pinned at the time.

Probably we could have just a debate about what spring rates or swaybar settings work and dont work. anderson runs the rear disconnected, i run it max stiffness on the rear bar. the entire system needs to be looked at.

Baced on your settings from your weblink, im sure pinned can work for you and i believe you when you say it does. Until we drive each others car, we wont really know what way works best.

Certainly for the non -seasoned racer, i dont think its a place to start. (and especially for the street)

Thank you all. Well I don't wanna have to do it on a street car either but the point of my question is to know the amount by which the wheel is moving to the back, measured at hub. 1/2 inch there may mean 2 inches at the edge of the wheel flare in my case. Anyone knows the range of motion of the wheel at that point?

Thanks
